In close range you can essentially use this to protect yourself from wide-ranged attacks as it says and other taijutsu attacks themselves (within proper strength). That defense can then quickly be turned into an offense by unleashing the current on an opponent who is within short-range of you. That is greater efficiency. Which is key to staying on the offense. Don't you think it's better to defend and attack in one move instead of simply defend and THEN attack in two moves?"

It is incredibly simple but despite its simplicity it has many uses. Now, by manipulating lightning chakra into the shape of an orb in either of your hands you will throw it into the air above the opponent (or any other target) and cause it to rain continuous lightning bolts upon anyone within the radius of the attack. The bolts, being bolts, have piercing capabilities and can easily tear through solids within elemental weaknesses and strengths. Try it out and tell me what you think!"

"That is a very good question Essen. It all depends on description. Certainly if you allow a bolt to strike you directly it will harm you. But you also can't manipulate where these strike directly as it isn't that advanced. It is simply rain. So yes, be careful where you place it and how you describe that."

"You're right. It is indeed quite vague. I'd say the discharge happens from your hands or any place on your body really and you can launch them from there with a mid-range reach. Also, using this on water would be fine as long as the water isn't in direct contact with it or you. For example, you're standing on water but you yourself are completely dry for now. So don't over think that too much but it is good you keep that in mind. Any questions? Did that clarify it for you?"

Description: This jutsu allows the user to generate non-focused electricity from their body. It can be used as an omnidirectional attack or be channeled through weapons, the ground or other conductive mediums. Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead it has great numbing and paralyzing effects. To channel Nagashi through a medium, the user needs to focus the technique into one of his hands which will then be put in contact with the medium and can only choose to either do a widespread attack throughout his whole body or to channel it into something; he cannot achieve both usages at the same time. Despite not having much destructive or damaging properties, Nagashi can be used to destroy low rank earthen and wooden structures and even negate chakra on the ground to stop high ranked earth and wood techniques. It has also been noted that Lightning Specialists that have mastered Lightning to the highest degree can resist total paralyzation, although they still feel the pain and numbing effects.
Note: Paralyzation lasts 1 turn if sucessful but is ineffective against bios who have a primary Lightning Specialty

SO NAGASHI. I'm sure you've been waiting for this one too :3. It is a rather popular technique. Lots going on in it and its important to understand it fully. I want you to tell me everything you know about it first before I guide you through it.

I do wonder if it becomes heavily supported on a raining aspect of field/ standing on a water surface? "You're right that this technique isn't lethal. Unless you channel it through a medium such as a sword and land a fatal blow with the sword (i.e. stabbing a vital organ, etc etc). But that doesn't reduce the usefulness of the technique. The most common usage of Nagashi is used as a full body surge to release from genjutsu. Nagashi is able to release from B-Rank and below Genjutsu. It is also commonly used to force opponents out of short-range of the user to give the user some space in taijutsu. But it is somewhat easily countered in this case so be sure to have something to follow up with if you decide to use it for this. Now the most mistaken application of this technique is that people seem to think it carries destructive power. It doesn't. It can't rip apart earthen structures or tear through solids. So if you release this into the earth to stop an earth technique of appropriate rank, it can do that. For example, if a pillar is rising up from the earth and you channel this into the earth it will stop the pillar. Not destroy it. Just simply stop the movement. That is key when using this technique.
