Sasuke's character just seemed so repetitive character-wise, always having the same goals except executed in different ways and on different people. Minato always seemed more interesting, the kyuubi attack and how he deliberately sacrificed himself for the village and put that burden on his son really piqued my interest into thinking on what type of character he might be.

Naruto was not repetitive, sure he had the same singular goal, but atleast it was more of an enjoyable ride of reading the journey he went through to achieve his goal. He also atleast achieved his, Sasuke achieved one of his goals but it turned out he did a bad thing, the second failed so..

Nope, far from it actually. But he's getting there, not far behind characters like Minato, Naruto, Kakashi, Jiraiya and Madara. Now that the manga has ended he probably won't be getting higher in the best character list lol, not like he would be able to move up a spot either way though, his character was pretty shitty throughout whole part 2.

I find a potato more interesting than minato.

Regarding the Kages, Sasuke told them he just wanted to see Danzo, and that he had no desire to fight them but wouldn't hold back if they engaged him. Sasuke broke and entered, but only killed people that engaged him first. The only person he directly pursued to kill was Danzo, he only ended fighting the Samurai and Kages out of self-defense.

He wanted to destroy the village out of mental instability. You're critiquing Sasuke and defending Obito when they're in the same boat.

No, obito didn't immediately start to want destruction [excluding his psychotic break], obito's intention was still good at heart even though he went about it the wrong way. Obito wanted peace for the world, he took revenge on the kiri nin in that instance & then realized that there is another alternative to having to suffer. He went about it the wrong way because he simply didn't care about the real world & the people who lived in it. [

According to you, that part of Sasuke was a bad character because:

A) He just believed Obito, allowing himself to be manipulated and not questioning if what he was doing was right. But, Obito also just believed Madara after one single instance, never questioning if what he was doing for IT was true.

Sasuke & obito underwent things differently. Obito became the mizukage, he went to the heart of kiri & found out all the information regarding rin's death. Unfortunately he had no way of knowing that madara was secretly behind the plan however he still did his own investigating & succeeded in doing it. All sasuke did was attack a meeting & ask danzo if he ordered itachi to kill the clan. He didn't bother to find out the reasoning behind it or if there was another side to the story. [

] Shinobi endure & make sacrifices, that has been the unfortunate truth for centuries, sasuke let his hatred blind him of that truth.

& Obito also read the uchiha tablet so unless he knew that BZ changed it then there was no reason to deny IT & what it entailed.

The thing is though Sasuke did have doubts, hence why he asked Danzo if it was true before crushing him, and pursuing the Kages. Sasuke acknowledged he didn't know the whole picture and may have been wrong, but Obito didn't.

Sasuke had already decided on killing danzo before asking him. & As I said above he didn't bother to find out the reason as to why or if there was another story, he just wanted to kill him because he gave the order, & this is all based on one source.

B) Allowed himself to be manipulated by the man that was indirectly responsible for the loss that caused his pain. But, Obito was manipulated by Madara, the man who directly and purposefully orchastrated the death of Rin.

Again this wouldn't have been a problem if he did his own unbiased investigating. Why take the words of a shady character he just met? Obito had no way of knowing that madara was the one responsible even if he did his own research, now I'm not saying that sasuke would find out that obito was responsible but it would've been worth the shot to gather as much info as he could instead of going on a killing spree after he had time to think.

2. IT justifies WHY Obito did it, but it doesn't make it logical.

Having everyone enter a world where you never have to experience pain is logical, of course it is. The only two problems with obito's goal were that he was killing innocents to accomplish it [immoral, not illogical given the end result] & that he was forcing others into it with him [again immoral, but not illogical].

Your entire reply to Dannie has been a thinly veiled sign that you can't counter his/her points, so you're copping out with IT. If you're worth your salt, how about you explain how enslavement justifies any of this?

Have you ever heard of the matrix? On the inside we're fine but on the outside it's a hell hole. If we have no recollection of what's going on outside or what happened to put us inside then it's as if it never existed in the first place. From one perspective the justification behind his actions is highly self explanatory & that's one of the reason's why why I just posted the one word responses [the other reason being his incessant insulting]. I expected people would have picked up on this but I guess I was wrong. Apparently even the trolls who defend sasuke are right if I don't bother to take them seriously or dignify their immaturity with a response, well sorry for not wasting my time with people like them.

I'm entitled to my own opinion, who I believe could be the best written character may not actually be the best written character to you or a professional writer. However as the point of the post you quoted says, this forum is hardly the place to find people who are actually credible enough to compare any two characters of equal significance & determine which of them is definitively better.

You believe sasuke is the best written most likely, okay then you're entitled to that & I never said you weren't. But don't feel the need to reply to me just because I disagree with it, you may have different feelings about obito, so? I don't really care. I'm not going to insult sasuke now just because you think differently. Come now, you should me mature enough to understand at least that.

You can disagree with me; now that is what we called opinion. You stating that Obito is a well-written character? Now, for opinions sake, I can or anyone else shouldn't bar you from holding on to it. But, you cannot state that this is some kind of literary fact or that your so-called opinion - which I am sure has been developed with such fastidious care - holds any weight.

When Obito's characterization, by god, is horrendous. The writer's Editor(s) accepted that Naruto never changed, which means, his one sole ideal of aligning 'cool and acceptance' with the position of 'hokage' never truly altered. He remains the same mundane and absurd character he always was. So for Obito to assume Naruto's persona, immediately results in the death of creativity that his literal persona Tobi provided.

You can give it a spin if you want, but that is just a fact. Yes, I am mature enough, which is why I didn't attack your likeness of Obito, but merely said that calling him a 'well written character' with an allusion of a matter of fact tone is wrong. If it was again your opinion, then no harm done.

Minato is nothing but a pile of rocks. He makes Naruto look like a literally masterpiece. And that ... is not even a compliment.
