"I have this thing where contact with sea water makes me really weak. It's to do with the whole flames thing, dunno if you saw it but I'm kind of, made out of fire. I ate this fruit thinking it was an apple a long time ago and I got the power. It was a whole thing." George looked at her the whole time, speaking in a rambling tone.

She laughed, she had never known the true meaning of incompatible before... But she most certainly did now.
"Oh, well you are going to hate me"
She says, more sarcastically than anything as she clicks her fingers and receives a pinch on the toe from a crab who soon scuttles back off into the ocean.
"Ow"
She says softly, laughing as she speaks.
He looks up at her with an inquiring look. "Now, what reason would I have to hate you?"
"Aye, Sharky I'm grand. Where's Big?"

Just as she was about to answer the man, she averts her attention to the other oncoming voice.
"Yes, thank you. I should really head home now though..."
Her voice is hurried and doesn't have the same confidence it possessed when speaking to the man who had tried to end her life moments earlier. Looking back down at the man she answers him before pushing herself to her feet and beginning to walk off down the beach.
"Perhaps you'll find out one day."

She stops and turns, aiming her question at the man not on the ground.
"He's not from around here is he?"
She stands, hands on hips.
???: *get down to water then rears back as rise the pole and line with it great curves and sways into the bright blue sky behind her just pausing for a slip moment*
Hmph!
*she then quick snaps her body arm forward wiping the line and it's greathook just a few inches pass her face as it continues to shoot forward over the water before crashing into the water causing a great wave*

She laughs hysterically at the mans guess...
"Mermaid? No, far from it!"
She says, gradually, through her laughing fit. Once she calms down (it takes a while) she looks at the man and speaks once again.
"Here... In this village... We all have our purpose, no one is average. We're specialists of a different kind."
She climbs the stairs of her lifeguard tower and sits on the seat, looking out to the ocean and waiting for a response, assuming she'd have a greatly long story to tell.
"Through the ground, makes sense. Being stone and all."
"What on earth are you on about?" George asked completely in the dark about what she's saying.

She sighs... She knew it.
"I'm a lifeguard. But not because I applied and got accepted... Not because I can swim pretty well... But because I can snap my fingers and save a life without even moving... The chefs back in that place? They're chefs... Not because they have a passion for cooking... But because they can sniff an ingredient, they can feel an ingredient and make anything taste great. I don't understand it myself..."
She looks around for more examples...
"This guy... I'm sure he has something to help him with his job too..."
She gestures to the man.

She sighs once again... Gesturing toward the ocean she gives a comforting smile and speaks.
"Get in. I promise you will not drown."
She preps her fingers, ready to snap at any moment.
