thought this was a really good chapter… Gai going 7th gate first was a bit of a letdown initially, but then he used one of my favorite moves in all of Naruto!!!! Afternoon Tiger!!!!!!! I freakin LOVE that move!!!!! But Gai got even more respect from me after reading this. Man it's gonna be hard for me to see him go but KISHI!!!! DONT GO SOFT ON US!!!! He'd better die!!! Also, I saw someone on the first page say they feel bad for Kakashi, who'd for all intents and purposes, would be losing yet another comrade and rival and I completely agree but what about Rock Lee??? He just lost Neji and is about to (hopefully) lose Gai, his sensei, his idol… That's gonna be really hard for him… Plus, he's left with freakin Ten Ten!!!!! I think Gai's gonna use evening Dragon for his 8th gate tech!!! I'm so excited for next week's chapter!!!

Good for Gai to be back in action.

This chaptet is a 5/5 for me... Im happy kabuto is back and stil has dsm! Im also happy that naruto has surely surpassed jariaya and the 4th no question about it.

I loved how gai took the lead, this is why I first started watching naruto I remember getting goose bumps when rocklee first fought gaara and we got to see the gates. Now that feeling has come back 10 fold! Althought I feel a bit sad how I felt when jariaya died .... Or even when itachi died... Gai was always one of my favorites... He was truely kage level.. !!

honestly the series had its flavour due to handful of people, Gai and Jiraya are two of them, When Jiraya died i half wished to stop watching naruto, but i honestly don't want Gai to die...

Kishimoto has completely run out of ideas and is totally wash up as a writer. But as long as he have 75% of brain dead fans of his manga who give him a pass, he can keep using throw you off jutsu, to make that same 75%, not think it was the clear obvious person, in this case Kabuto (just like it was clear that Tobi was Obito after he told Kakashi his M.S eye technique wouldn't work on him), instead of making it look like someone else and then reveal someone new or out of nowhere character.

Then Kishi taint a proud Uchiha in Sasuke with Senju cells and give the most overrated main character of any manga, the other half of the 9 tail and the chakra of all the tail beasts, instead of taking the opportunity to make Naruto (the suppose reincarnated sage of the 6 path and if so the sage was a bum and I wonder if Naruto would of been the sage, if he wasn't born with the 9 tail fox) great without needing 9 tail steroids.

If Kishi wasn't wash up, he could of made Naruto have a different type of special chakra within him that let him manipulate the Juubi chakra at will and let Sasuke get the spiral sharingan that the Sage son had or the 10 tail Juubi sharingan and let Madara have the whole 9 tail with his other rinnigan eye, before Sasuke & Naruto tag team. But no Kishi do the obvious thing and have Naruto upgrade to 10 tail chakra and Sasuke get the rinnigan eyes, to team up on a one rinnigan and half 9 tail missing Juubi, sage of the 6 path Madara.

Kishi I already see your big genius wow moment at the end of your manga, when you let Naruto get the full power Juubi in him, to become the Sage at the end of him and Sasuke battle then Naruto defeat Sasuke and have all the Naruto Balls Boys go ape, before you let Naruto give the title and his dream of being Supreme Kage to your by far most goal driving character in Sasuke and Naruto succeed where Hashirama fail, because if you can't save one friend, you don't deserve to be Hokage right Kishi.

Kishimoto your the greatest wash up, obvious, juice every chapter manga writer ever.

I cant believe rocklee has to watch neji and his sensei die... Almost as bad as sasuke watching his bro kill.his clan... Then waching his bro die by his own doing... This manga is not for the light hearted.. Shinobi live a dangerous life.

Interesting Facts:

Thanks to Kabuto's healing method, Sasuke might have Hashirama's cells. A possible rinnegan formation I presume.

Thanks to Obito's healing method, Naruto might have Hashirama's cells, Madara's will and Kyubbi.

Tobirama was the Hokage Orochimaru respected the most (which makes sense once you remember he praised how the 2nd used high level Suiton to counter the 3rd's fire attack)

Gai's 8th gate would most likely use his blood (Red) which is the logical reason for the user's death.

What I don't understand though was the tree in that panel. What happened there?

I'm not 100% sure but I think what happened is madara split the midday tiger using his staff and hit Guy into the ground (reason why he was pinned into the ground) resulting in broken arm and other injuries. It zoomed away and showed Guy's impact on the ground. And you're right it's going to be his blood...seems he's gonna pull a shishio lol just without the flames...I think sasuke will get rinnegan as well.

The Eight Gates was introduced in December 2001 in chapter 85 " Now, of All Times...!! "

Around 13 years! 13 years later and we finally get to see the last gate. T~T

theres a really simple solution to all that you wrote just don't read the manga, if its as washed out and predictable as you make it out to be then why bother reading unless you only read to bash

I'm glad the ass pull crap can stop now. I like how Naruto uses Sage Mode as a transformation/power up while Minato uses it more like a technique/jutsu to quickly augment or boost his attacks.

So at least we know he could have combined sage mode with his kcm, he just didn't because Naruto was already doing it and Naruto is better at it than him.

An idea suddenly came in mind. Although I'm not sure if it's plausible. If the gates involve chakra flow or something similar, can't Hinata do something about it when Gai's almost completely drained. As far as I know, the Hyuuga clan is good in disrupting chakra flow. Can't she do something about the continuous flow of chakra through the gates?

But I'm glad Madara is familiar with the red steam. It brings me closer to my theory that Madara must have fought and had a hard time with one of Gai's ancestors or someone who used the same technique. I may be wrong though...

Definitely a step forward from last week.

I really enjoyed this chapter, it finally revealed who the mystery man was even though it was pretty obvious. I was slightly dissapointed but at least, it makes sense. Why would kishi introduce a new character now? Unless he has a very good reason to do so, it would be a little weird...

I really liked the "connection" between obito and kabuto on how they were both used by the same man (madara).

Sasuke getting the rinnegan is pretty obvious at that point or if not the rinnegan, some sort of equivalent power-up. Plus, he still has this "jutsu" from hashirama that we have yet to see (I don't think kishi gave sasuke a new jutsu and forgot about it).

On to the awesome part of the chapter, the whole gai situation. Even madara is acknowledging gai's power so it must be something. I guess it's over for gai since he's pretty much going to go eighth gate next week (Unless the next chapter focuses on naruto maybe meeting the sage).

Overall, decent chapter, a little plot progression and some epic shit going on. I'd give this chapter a solid 4.5/5. A little dissapointed by kabuto being the mystery man but hey, at least it makes sense since he's the only medic alive (at least that we know off) apart from sakura and karin (and tsunade, but she is busy somewhere else). This chapter tops the chapters we've been getting these past weeks with the exception of chapter 663 (Maybe next chapter will top it, who knows).
