Yes, it is true and I am one of those fan.

This theory might seems a little bit shadowy because android games is still at its infancy. Android games has it own upgrades, where players has to buy coins, items or tools to progress. PC gaming will stood the test of time just like the pyramids, but I am not too sure of the gaming consoles.

Sega has fallen, who's next?

Dude, the fact you even made this thread shows just how much you do not understand about the games industry.

Games where players buy coins to upgrade (pay to win games) will never take off to the extent that you are assuming. The amount of people enjoy those type of games is miniscule. People in general do not enjoy paying for a game, then putting extra money into it to get more benefits. On consoles/PC you can buy "Map Packs", etc... but they are optional & do not give advantages over other players. In general, people prefer games where they do not have to constantly funnel money into them to get benefits. So the type of games you are suggesting will never take off like a console/pc game...

You are saying "PC has stood the test of time, but you are not sure about consoles."
Consoles have been around since the 1970's. Which in my opinion has already stood the test of time, considering gaming PC's have been around for less time than that. So I don't see how your logic works?

And basing off your Statement about Sega, "Sega has fallen, who's next?", it just shows again that you have no idea how it works. Sega didn't "fall". They did what any self respecting company would do, and stepped aside to allow bigger and better consoles to advance. If Sega wanted to bring out a console, they could quite easily. But they chose not to. They are just sticking to making to games, and leaving the console making to the companies that clearly enjoy doing it.

& that's how it's always going to be. Consoles will always be around. Then when the console has run it's course, a new/better console will come out to replace it. Companies like Sega may drop out of the console race, but there will always be another company to replace them. As long as technology keeps advancing, so will games consoles, and people will keep buying them. Simple.

Well Sega was one of the "God Father" companies of gaming like Atari with so many successful console releases. I mean before I was even born they had at least three successful consoles then in my life time they've had the Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, and Sega DreamCast.

The only reason they got knocked out of the console game is because the dreamcast got swept by the PS2/XBOX/Gamecube and they had to sell the company to not lose everything. But they still make a ton of money from the games they release on multiple consoles, same with atari.

Now I'm sure Mobile games will evolve with technology but so will the consoles, and the consoles will always have the upper hand for gamers over Mobile games, not to mention 2 out the big three have successful handheld consoles that cover the whole gaming on the go angle.

I just don't see the console era ever ending, it's been lasting for almost 30 years and there is just way to much money in it. But who knows, anything is possible I suppose.

Sega fought valiantly against Nintendo, but Sony Playstation ensures its untimely demise. Now, the gaming consoles has once again at the brink of extension. Sony is now joining the mobile phone arms race by creating Xperia that offers Playstation Mobile Gaming. It's just a matter of time that Nintendo will join the war.

Yet again, thank you for expounding the down of Sega. In business, the law of nature still applies "Survival of the Fittest". Pardon me, but don't make it look like Sega considered charity for their competitors. To understand my theory, you don't need to study Economics to get its logic. The Law of Supply and Demand will drop the sales of gaming consoles eventually.

Easy for your guys to say that gaming consoles will improve to give much superb graphics, but have you considered the cost of manufacture? One of the reason why gamers are buying the consoles is because of the games, the saga! just like Resident Evil, God of War and GTA. A game master magazine once said, "It is the games that makes the consoles, not the consoles that makes the game".... Sad but true.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you're talking shit.
You're trying to argue a point that makes no sense, and you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
You're Username matches your personality perfectly. "The Don of Drama".
Making a massive drama out of what is possibly the most illogical thread I've read all week...

(I wouldn't bother replying. I cant be arsed to come to this read to read more of your incompetence )

That's the hole in your theory right there. Lol

You have to consider the fact that Sony isn't a gaming company it's a electronics organization. They do everything from:
1. Televisions
2. Sound Systems
3. Record,Produce, Distribute Music i.e. a Record Label
4. A Movie Production Company with there own brand camera's, editing software, and just about all other equipment.
5. Computers/ Laptops/ Tablets

Just about every electronic you can think of there is a Sony brand so of course they'd have phones, they try to appeal to every market. Doesn't mean that the gaming side will be wiped out by mobile on the go games especially when they have there own mobile service as you said, and also because they make popular handheld systems with games that have more depth than any mobile game. I also don't know what you're are talking about with them "heading to their demise", when they've sold way over a million ps4 consoles around the world in the first week of release.

Sega on the other hand was like Nintendo, they're a strictly gaming company so if they put everything into a console that fails like the DreamCast did, of course they'll lose everything. Nintendo on the other has been around as long as Sega but the thing is they make excellent consoles and games. They'll always have enough money to be able to take a hit if a console doesn't sell well, ex. That new flat tablet looking 3DS I think it's called 2DS? Idk but it was stupid.

I give 4 years till mobile devices start beating next gen consoles.

The Tegra K1 is the first-ever console-class mobile technology, enabling PC-class gaming technologies like DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.4 and tessellation.

Perhaps android games can never surpass the console gaming in terms of graphics. But not all games has to be graphic wise to be great. Candy Crush Saga & Plant VS. Zombie for instance have been reported to be addictive. As always there will always be advantages and disadvantages.

As games evolve into future generations better graphics have to come along with it, now you won't expect a new game to possess graphics like zelda or the GTA squeals having 2D interface, that'd throw of the creativity, devolpment and enhancement put into those games, the purpose serves, as technology itself progresses, the amplification of new graphics are done, obviously to make the gameplay more realistic, better, and adept to the current gaming generation, and yet I do agree, to some extent, not all games have to graphically enhanced to be good, as I still consider GTA SA to be the best GTA as of my opinion, and halo 2 the best halo game, even tho they're old, the games which are currently devolped, entirely do have to make games by attaining better use of graphic engines, if that doesn't apply, the games right now won't sell off well, mainly the games which are sequal to their previous titles, do you really expect previous game titles like halo, GTA, uncharted to be using 3D generation graphics? That'd ruin the game, obviously the buyers of the game do expect better as the devolpers make new sequels for the previous games.

so the problem remains that games which have made it onto IOS platforms still lack the processing/graphical power to run HD generation games, for instance, the GTA series made it, but still, and most of them are the same games we've played before or just alternate versions of them, and not to mention it's still a game which was playable on the ps2, as GTA SA was the game which took a real toll on the ps2, along with infiinty balde 3 these games are the most demanding on the ios graphic wise, to be able to run games like even GTA 4 on mobiles and tablets, remins an impossibility at this point, it's been here before, and sega games like sonic could run on mobiles and 64bit colour games were eventually bought onto mobiles, now it's expanded, more games like GTA, mass effect, deus ex machina are now available and they do look appealing, and at the same time the gaming industries are also expanding, making new and more titles, it's been like that, and the handheld and mobile gaming as always remained steps behind console gaming in whole. As you can probably see

Android is just linux. Linux has entered the console gaming market actually with the nvidia shield hand held console so it's quite the opposite of what you state. Console's aren't going anywhere as long as there are people willing to buy them.

Please, it's not going anywhere for a long time.

And for those saying the wii u is a bad console, I completely disagree. It is a great console, what's bad is Nintendo's business and marketing decisions that left the console dry in terms of games and advertisement.. But that dryness shall finally come to an end with the development of AAA and third party games in 2014
