The Sage of Six Paths is a combination of BODY (younger son) and SPIRIT (older son). even hashirama who has GOD-like powers didnt become the Sage of Six Paths.

The Rikudou is a combination of the body (Yang) and eye (Yin) of the Juubi when he became its' Jinchuuriki, prior to that he was an Uzumaki, the Yin of the Juubi became the Uchiha while the Yang of the Juubi became the Senju.

The equation is:

Uzumaki (Rikudou Sennin) + Juubi = Senju (Yang) and Uchiha (Yin)

I believe Sasuke, Hokage's, Oro, and Madara know there is ying&yang and that they progress at the same rate. Obito is excluded cause he is partially insane.
