It was pretty good, I liked getting to see the additional sibling. Beyond that yeah it was a good chapter, but I really don't care to see their backstory from childhood. There being a degree of mystery surrounding Madara and Hashirama is part of what makes them so legendary in my mind. I never cared to see their fight or their childhood. So it's kind of pointless to me.
Yes, these flashbacks exist to relay a message to Sasuke, but Oro. already reminded Hashi. that they were in a hurry, but he still gave a play by play of the VOTE battle, and now is going to tell the whole story from childhood? Oh get on with it!!!!

complete waste of a weeks worth of waiting. lame flash back bullsh*t. this moved the story forward in no way shape or form

I like how the chapter subtly gave the reader the explanation to the idea of why the ninja villages were formed, all while shocking us with the extra sibling info and Madara's hilarious reactions to Hashi.
It's sad though, how even 7y/o children were used as weapons of war in the name of Shinobi, were many died. And as a former soldier myself I've seen the devastation on how War messes up the psyche of children, specially child-soldiers (its really happens, specially in African nations where there's rampant corruption and govt is practically ineffective in its authority).
I now wonder if the So6P had ever meant Shinobi to be a means for fighting, and if so, what for that matter, if not each other??? Because that's all I see how ninjas are used; a means to kill, and usually each other.
Hopefully, these flashback will continue to be sublimely epic in its story and character development. I'm looking forward for next week where it might tells us what it means to be a Shinobi, at least from Hashi's point of view.

I really don't mind the flashbacks, back-story is good. Naruto's generation had life easy compared to Hashirama and Madara. Growing up in war will surely toughen you up fast. You either get strong or die trying.

You guys that are hating on it fail to realize that character background and story are extremely important to the manga. We're learning all about the past history of these two, I can understand you don't like it because it's not packed with action but every chapter isn't going to be.

Sounds legit to me.
I agree I like the story stuff more in the manga and the action more in the anime.
I really enjoyed this chapter, Hashirama's character keeps on getting better and better, I don't really like Madara but it was interesting seeing a Naruto side of him. We are seeing what the ninja world was like back then, and the 2 most legendary ninja's uprisings, so I am excited.

It seems like the flashbacks may continue for at least another two weeks. There are still things that require further explanation, such as the changes that lead to Madara and Izuna taking control of their clan, the forming alliances among clans (which would later form villages,) the Uzumaki clan's role in everything, and perhaps even Hashirama's awakening powers.

Well isn't that bad when you read it a couple of times,it does kind of explain why are Madara and Hashirama the way they are know,Hashirama also lost a brother like Madara but didn't turn out to be the villain,the same as Naruto and Sasuke... It's nice that their history is explained in detail,but I don't get why other important events like Madara giving his eyes to Nagato weren't so well explained and were rushed..
I love these little back story thing. Like itama and the other senju brother. The war must have been really brutal for tobirama to change his personality like that. I wonder what happened the madara's other 2 brothers and what their names were.

Makes sense to me. It'd be pretty damn cool if it turns out to be the case. Especially since Uzumaki seem to have aspects of both Uchiha and Senju.... either way both families would be related to the Uzumaki through the So6P but it would be a cool twist, no doubt.
Oro. Called it the lost clan durin the jutsu to return all hokage and there massive chakra. Three known uzumaki have hosted the nine tails and the sage had a relationship with the tailed beasts. Also hopin. Naruto could learn rinnagan then
