Can you tell me the rank of each spike?
Main jutsu is ranked B. There are four spikes so B ranked divided by four would equal four D ranked spikes if memory doesn't betray me. D+D=C, C+D+D = B. However i think the user could chose himself how many spikes there would be.

A simple one. You channel your Earth chakra and send it to the ground, or any Earth source, and use shape manipulation to shape the earth into a shelter like structure which is made up of hardened rocks. The size is large enough to cover yourself and your opponent, and you can manipulate the shelter likewise to have openings in it, so that your vision of your opponent isn't hindered. Just a basic defense. Doesn't require handseals, and is fast to perform. You can use this to defend against certain attacks and use the cover of the shelter to go underground, etc.
Also very similar to an iron sand jutsu that i use sometimes to cloak myself with it as a medium. However does this stone shelter last forever until destroyed? Could it be used as medium to other attacks that is.

Correct. Well, you can't have more spikes that the technique states, but obviously can have less, and the rank division changes then.

The stone shelter would just be as a chakra-devoid shelter, unless it's destroyed, meaning it can be destroyed with low rank techniques easily after a turn or two.

(Doton: Iwa Enchou no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Dome Technique
Rank: B
Type: Defensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description:The user slams his hands on the ground and creates a 1/4 dome of earth, which protects them from frontal external attacks. The domes shape is in a similar fashion to wood release: wood locking walls.

Basically, you slam your hands on the ground, channeling your Earth chakra into it, and shape manipulate the Earth, taking control of it to form a 1/4 shaped dome, which looks like a tunnel, but is closed, meaning it can protect you from external attacks, but the vision of your opponent is hindered due to it being closed. It's quite alright, since the range is only short, and can only protect you from attacks from a single direction. Although, quick to use, and you can easily use it as a cover for other techniques.

Doton: Iwa Keiro) – Earth Style: Rock Trail
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user slams their hands on the ground and giant rocks rise up and jag the opponent from underneath.

A quite nice technique. You slam your hands on the ground, channeling a good amount of your Earth chakra into it, and manipulate the ground in such a way so as to shape it into giant rocks, which can jag and impale your opponent from below. The rocks are very sturdy and do blunt force damage, instead of doing focused damage like Earth Release: Stone Spikes, even though they have slightly sharp edges. In short, somewhat, triangular shaped rocks which rise up at once and impale your opponent. Even though the opponent can easily detect it by sensing the change in the Earth below him, and you can use it to force him to go mid-air. I used it in my Rain test to go mid-air and land back on the rocks, haha. Range is given as mid, because they can affect you too if you're in short range.

Why is that? Even if i create more spikes with the same technique it only makes them weaker individually however they cover a larger area.

Very basic technique as it's basically the same as the large dome but it's a 1/4 of it. However i am kinda concerned. This jutsu drains just as much chakra as a surrounding dome that i learned previously but this jutsu only covers from frontal attacks. It would be logical if this would be 4 times stronger then since you spend the same amount of chakra on just 25% of the previous rock shelter technique. If not it's pretty useless imo xD.

Fast to perform but easy to avoid since slamming your hands on the ground immediately sets the trail for using an earth-based jutsu. Could very well be used as a diversion while having a flying summon in the air and forcing the opponent upwards. It's unpredictable were it emerges.

Yeah, but you can have lesser spikes than mentioned in the technique. Not more though. If a tech states 3 fireballs, you can't fire 4, etc etc..

(Doton: Doryuheki) - Earth Release: Earth Style Wall Jutsu
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will first perform the Tiger → Hare → Boar → Dog and then creates a solid wall of earth as a form of defense. Chakra is either converted to earth within the body and then spat out to form the wall or the user can manipulate pre-existing earth to form the wall. The earth then instantly rises up and takes form. The barrier itself is also coated with chakra, making its strength incomparable to that of a normal mud wall. Because of the earth's special characteristics, the wall is highly resistant against, for instance, fire and water. Hizuren Sarutobi spits mud from his mouth to perform the jutsu whilst Kakashi creates a wall composed of bulldog sculptures to box-in Pain.

One of the most useful technique. And quite commonly used in the manga. You weave 4 handseals, and either gather Earth natured chakra in your gullet and spit out mud from your mouth, after manipulating your chakra. Once the mud is spewed, it instantly hardens into a quite solid and tall wall. However, since we're on method 2, you simply channel your chakra into the ground or any other Earth source and take control of the ground and reform it to form a solid wall of Earth. This can easily protect you from Fire, Water and Wind techniques, but is obviously vulnerable to Lightning techniques. This hinders the vision of your opponent and vice versa, which is a double edged sword.

( Doton: Tajū Doryūheki ) - Earth Release: Multiple Mudwall Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary, Defence
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A
Description: Like the parent technique, it creates a reinforced wall of earth to be used as a defensive mechanism. However, the technique works in a different manner. Using a pre-existing source of earth, it allows the user to create multiple walls of earth, further fortifying their defense instead of forming a single wall, by slamming his hands on the ground.

This is a variation of the B-Ranked one. This however spawns a massive area, and rises up very tall. After slamming your hands on the ground, you send a massive amount of chakra into it, forming large walls which rise instantly. Multiple walls are created, and they rise high up in the sky. Each wall is super sturdy and highly resistant to attacks. If one wall is destroyed, you still have time to protect yourself, while the other wall gets destroyed. However, since it covers a wide area, it's a last minute defense. Your vision of the opponent would be severely hindered, and you need to rise high to see your opponent. It was used by Kakashi against Pein. Requires no handseals, so is faster than it's B-Ranked counterpart.

So the only real downside with this compared to the other two is that this one requires some handseals. So the wall itself is coated with chakra then? Well since it drains as much chakra as the other two it would seem irrelative since the strength of the wall is judged on how much chakra put into it i guess.

Nothing new really just a reinforced version of the mudwall but instead of one there's three. Which reminds me of the triple rashomon.

(Doton: Otoshibuta) – Earth Release: Dropping Lid
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After doing the Snake handseal and slamming his hands on the ground, he user creates a portal above the target, high in the sky from which a giant, boar-shaped, earthen lid drops and falls on the target, trapping it underneath. The lid can be hollow or solid, depending on if the user wants to deal damage to the enemy or not. Because of its size, to safely used, the lid has to be created at least mid range from the user otherwise he will also be caught inside. The biggest lid can dwarf a boss summon like Nagato's Dog or Gamabunta.

A quite commonly used jutsu in battles. You weave one handseal, and slam your hands onto the ground, channeling your Earth chakra to it, and then form a portal high in the sky, out of which a giant boar shaped lid emerges and can be used to crush your enemy underneath it. Good for crushing entire summons themselves. It's upto you to make the lid solid or hollow, depending on how you apply shape manipulation to the jutsu. The lid size is enormous, so you can only use it in mid range or higher, else, you yourself will get crushed underneath it. The biggest of the lid can crush Nagato's dog summons, or the toad boss, Gamabunta.

(Doton: Tsuchi Kairō) - Earth Release: Earth Corridor
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will first perform the snake hand seal and then cause the earth in the surrounding area to rise up and over a target and create a cavern, imprisoning the target. The user can leave an opening to allow attacks to go in to strike down the trapped adversaries, or close it up completely to prevent escape.

Once more, you weave the same handseal(Snake) and channel your Earth chakra to the surrounding area. You then manipulate the Earth to rise up and form a cavern like shape, which imprisons the target inside it. The Earth is pretty solid in it's structure and rises up quite high. If you want, you can leave an opening, so as to attack the target with attacks from the opening. Else, you can close it completely to prevent escape, however, one can easily escape through an underground tunnel, so that way, it's pretty useless, if you don't possess sensing, since you can't see your opponent and vice versa.

Yeah i've seen this jutsu being used quite often as it's a very unusual jutsu. The fact that you summon lid from thin air reminds me of space time jutsu. What i like about the jutsu is the fact that you seem to release chakra through the ground, thus making the opponent believe they're to be attacked from the ground but instead it's above them. Genious U__U

I only see it as a diversion in my case, and by leaving one opening you could predict that the user would just escape from there or you form it to cut off the opponents escape-ways completely.

Let's finish off the B-Ranks

(Doton: Doryū Jōheki) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Rampart
Rank: B
Type: Defence/Supplementary
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: By performing the Tiger hand seal the user then makes a gigantic rampart rise up beneath the user's feet, by shaping the ground and increasing the amount of earth with chakra. Depending on what the user imagines, the shape of the rampart can be anything from level ground to a steep, needle-like mountain. If the user increases the volume of earth too much, he can be forced to keep his chakra consumption down. The user can combine this jutsu with Water Style: Waterfall Basin Technique to create a waterfall.

This was used by Yamato to demonstrate to Naruto how he could use both Water and Earth natures. So, after weaving one handseal, you channel a good amount of chakra into the ground, and manipulate the ground to bring forth a massive rampart which rises underneath your feet, into several meters in the air. It's upto to you, on how massive and tall the rampart is, although it has to be within mid-range vertically or horizontally. The frontal portion of the rampart protrudes inside in a rectangular manner, and you can combine it with Waterfall Basin to form a waterfall, which can be used for training purposes. A very basic technique and quite useful, if you're left with less chakra.

(Doton: Doryūsō) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Spears
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user first performs the Bird hand seal and the user condense mud or stone, from the ground, and shape them into spikes that will protrude from the ground in order to skewer the target. The spikes cannot penetrate targets of greater density.

This is the stronger version of the Stone Spikes. After weaving the Bird handseal, you channel your Earth chakra into the ground, and use shape manipulation to condense the mud and stone within it, and shape them into sharp and powerful spikes that protrude from the ground and skewer your target. Anything with B-Ranked and higher density Earthen structures can't be pierced through with these spikes. The spikes materialize very quickly, although the ground shakes a little when the technique takes place, so the opponent can be warned about a technique coming from within the ground.

(Doton: Iwayado Kuzushi) - Earth Style: Rock Lodging Destruction
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user performs the required hand seals Tiger → Rat → Snake and they then causes a cave-in by destroying the equilibrium that holds the cave together. Just removing a single vital stone throws off the balance of the cave, making it unexpectedly fragile and causing a domino effect that destroys the entire cave. The shinobi from Iwagakure use this technique in their pride tactic, luring several enemies into a cave to kill them all at once

After weaving 3 handseals, you channel your Earth chakra into a cave or any closed structure and loosen it's foundation, breaking it apart, and cause a cave-in to happen thus. Since the caves are made up of massive stones, all clustered together, loosening even one stone, causes the entire balance to falter, and thus destroys the whole cave. It's pretty useful if you can lure your opponent into a cave. Albeit, it is extremely location based, so quite limited in it's usage. And the cave-in is easy to defend from, since one can merge with the ground or destroy the cave with a widespread lightning or appropriate wind technique.

(Doton: Ukiwagan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Floating Ring Rock Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user focuses his chakra and channels into the earth to create 2 large floating rock cubes 2 meters squared. The cubes rotate around the user to either defend him from incoming attacks (he needs to direct them using hand movements towards the attack and each cube has a C-Rank strength) or, through using the momentum created by the rotation, be flung at the enemy with incredible speed.

This is primarily a defense based jutsu. You channel your Earth chakra into the ground and materialize forth a couple of large floating cubes of rock, which are 2 sq meters. These cubes are quite massive in size and they levitate around the user, rotating constantly. As an offense, you can use the momentum of the rotation of the cubes to direct them at the enemy. These are powerful enough to crush skulls and break bones with ease. Also, they travel with tremendous speed. To maintain the cubes, you need to constantly fuel chakra to them, thereby it's not combo friendly. If you stop channeling chakra, they fall to the ground and become devoid of chakra.

(Doton: Tetsu Keimusho no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Iron Prison Technique
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After first performing the required hand seals Ram → Dog → Rat the user then places their hand on the ground. This causes a circular arena to surround the target, spanning 15 meters around him and being 4 meters high. The floor, the walls and the ceiling are all chakra reinforced and the user can also lock himself inside if he so pleases. If these prison receives any damage above C-Rank, they disappear in a puff of smoke.

A massive jutsu. After weaving 3 handseals, you place your hand into the ground, channeling a large amount of chakra to it. Using precise shape manipulation and extreme chakra control, you materialize a large circular arena to surround your opponent. The walls span quite high and basically, you can form a mini-arena itself. I don't really see any offensive uses of it, and you can also use this on yourself, to lock yourself inside it and come up with a surprise attack, however, if you don't possess sensing, you'll obviously lose the vision of your opponent and can't sense him, and neither can he/she, which is a double edged sword. This can be particularly used to slow down a large summon. The arena isn't quite durable though, but is made up entirely out of your chakra. Anything above C-Rank damage causes the arena to poof away in a cloud of smoke. Somewhat like a summoning.

( Doton: Jimen Bunretsu no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Ground Splitting Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After forming the necessary hand seals Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger , the user slams their hands into the ground which causes the earth to erupt upwards or downwards below their target's feet. This technique can also effectively create barricades by creating large trenches or linear elevations that would take quite some time for a regular person to surmount.

After weaving a long set of handseals, you slam your hands onto the ground. Once you do that, you channel your Earth chakra into it and take control of the ground. You can either manipulate the Earth to erupt upwards or downwards below your opponent's feet. You can also form large barricades by materializing large trenches, which is basically somewhat like a ditch. The earth erupts in an abrupt manner, and can be used to put your opponent into a tough spot, since his/her feet can get trapped within the chunks of broken apart earth.

Ideal jutsu for defense or changing the terrain to his/her advantage. I'd use it to create a waterfall along with the jutsu you noted as well as finish off with a raiton move to electrocute the water in the basin. The fact that it's quite a huge jutsu means that there's some force in the rising of the rampart as well which means it could also be used to knock away summons or huge animals or just cut their path.

Pretty much a spike trap that is similar to many jutsus i've learned so far. The one thing i noticed though is that it's harder to predict since you actually don't slam your hands on the ground but only perform a single handseal. That's actually a great thing.

as destroying a cave right after you create it is quite unpredictable. It's also very effective but could still be avoided if the opponent escapes underground.

Very interesting technique as it could effectively operate as both defense and offense at the same time as you can throw one of the rocks towards your opponent while you defend yourself with the other. But said in description it would mean dividing the strength to C rank each.

(Doton: Tetsu Keimusho no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Iron Prison Technique

Quite similar to earth corridor except that this only takes the form of a huge prison to lock away the opponent. Ideal to perform before using the interrogation genjutsu :skorm:. The fact that the prison disappears in a puff of smoke however makes it seem like a clone technique of some kind.. Weird..

( Doton: Jimen Bunretsu no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Ground Splitting Technique

Quite useful jutsu as it could operate as a spike or a pit to cause your opponents doom. The fact that you still need to slam your hands on the ground still speaks for where the jutsu will come from and thus easy to predict. It also takes some handseals to make so it's not the fastest jutsu to perform.

Interesting. I never thought of using the cave-in jutsu in combination with the Earth Corridor. o_O
Let's finish this method.

(Doton: Kujo Joushou Iwa Chuuseki) - Earth Release: Destructive Rising Rock Pillars
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid-Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: This jutsu causes gigantic pillars of rock to forcefully emerge from the ground. This is a even greater scaled Earth Release: Rising Spikes and is large enough to impale a summoning technique.

Call it the A-Ranked version of Stone Spikes and somewhat like Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence. After sending a massive amount of Earth chakra into the ground, you control the Earth and forcefully manipulate it to cause gigantic pillars of rock to burst forth from the ground. The pillars are very thick in their width, although they have blunt edges. These can easily impale giant summonings with ease. You can literally grow a forest of pillars with this technique, crushing an entire army with it, as shown in the anime. Since the pillars are so wide, you can only use them in mid-long range. One of my favorite Earth techniques and very devastating. Obviously enough, the ground shakes violently before the pillars rise.

(Doton: Chidōkaku) - Earth Release: Moving Earth Core
Rank: A
Type: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user slams his hands on the ground and lowers or raises the ground in the surrounding area at high speeds, allowing them to create giant holes in the ground or avoid attacks. The size of the affected area as well as the depths that it is lowered to is up to the user and rasing earth can be done up to 20 meters tall creating a small cliff or they can create trenches that can be as deep as 20 meters. Other than being moved below ground relative to the surrounding surface the terrain is not altered, plant life and people retaining their same positions.

(Doton: Daichidōkaku) - Earth Release: Great Moving Earth Core
Rank: S
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This technique grants the user the ability to freely lower or raise the terrain within a specific area surrounding them, in a similar manner to its parent technique, albeit on a much larger scale. The user will slam his hands on the ground which he can then lower or raise the ground up to 100 meters in a large section. The rise will be fast enough to pin enemies to the ground, restricting their movements as they struggle to get up and the drop will be fast enough to leave almost all enemies without a footing (albeit not airborne). Because of the large chakra needed to alter such a large area of the terrain, the user will be able to use it only a limited number of times.
Note: Can only be used twice.

Ah, these are classics. One of the most used techniques in our Rp. Super versatile. For the A-Ranked one, you gather a large amount of Earth chakra and slam your hands onto the ground, manipulating it to cause a massive section of earth to either rise upwards or downwards, upto maximum 20 meters. This happens with terrific speed, and can be used to falter your opponent's balance, as well as push him/her deep into the ground. The most common usage is to push yourself above incoming attacks. A classic way of dodging nukes. The technique happens with tremendous speed, thus the opponent has nearly no time to react. The best way to pressure your opponent and lead them into traps. They will struggle hard to rise upwards again. Now, the S-Ranked version needs a large chakra input, albeit the performance is the same. Here, however, you can raise or lower the ground upto 100 meters, which is pretty brilliant. Another way of dodging nukes. Beware, however, if you raise yourself up, you're vulnerable to techniques from the sky. The S-Ranked version causes the opponents to be pinned to the ground if they are being pushed upwards. However, plant life and other things on the ground retain their same positions. The S-Ranked version can only be used twice, due to the massive chakra input and due to how much of an area you alter. The size of the pit is your choice. You can form pits of any size, within logic ofcourse.

(Doton: Dosenkiryū) – Earth Release: Earth and Stone Dragon Technique
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short – Long (Made short range of the user with a long range reach)
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Horse → Dog → Bird → Ox → Snake will create a large dragon of earth erupt from the ground and direct it towards the enemy with devastating force. This technique much resembles the Water Release: Water Dragon technique.

Take it as the Doton version of Tobirama's famous Dragon Bullet Technique. After weaving 5 handseals, you channel your Earth chakra into the ground and use extreme shape manipulation to form a large dragon of earth to burst forth from the ground, which you can direct towards the enemy. The dragon travels with decent speed and can damage summonings, as well as crush skulls with ease. You can also manipulate the dragon so as to make it rise below you, so that you can ride atop it, and close the distance between your opponent and yourself. Albeit, you need to constantly focus chakra to sustain the dragon, else it becomes a chakra devoid dragon which falls to the ground. Extends upto long range, which is pretty cool. One interesting usage is to make the dragon coil in such a manner so as to protect you from attacks, as well as use it as a cover to escape underground.

(Doton: Kaido Shōkutsu) - Earth Style: Opening Earth Rising Excavation
Rank: S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Mid-Long
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: N/A
Description: With the technique, the user can bring up something from deep within the ground by slamming his hands on the ground and manipulating it to forcefully make whatever is contained in it to be expelled upwards. The result of this technique has the appearance of an erupting volcano and can vary in size depending on the users needs.

A canon technique. With this, once you focus your Earth chakra into the ground after slamming your hands, you can alter the ground in such a way that you can bring up anything deep from within the ground, which bursts upwards with tremendous force. This causes any explosives, smoke bombs, or anything suspicious hidden beneath the ground to burst upward in the form of an erupting volcano. According to the chakra input, you can alter the impact of the rise. If you suspect your opponent's underground, or basically anything, you can instantly force it to rise up. Can be used to push large summonings or large scale techniques upwards in an unpredictable manner. The ground however shakes when this happens, so the opponent can be warned about it.

(Doton: Yama Eikyō) - Earth Release: Mountain Smash
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid-Long
Chakra cost: 70
Damage points: 140
Description: The user will do 3 handseals (Tiger → Ram → Rat) and slam his hands on the ground which creates two enormous rock formations that close in on the opponent from two opposing sides with tremendous force, smashing everything caught in between. Both of these formations are capable of dwarfing even the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path in size. This is one the most strongest Earth based techniques, standing as a testament to both this ability's destructive potential and its difficulty. However, because of its size and power, it can only be used a limited amount of times, requires much chakra and can only be used at least mid range from the user.
Note: Can only be used twice

The strongest Earth technique in the canon list. Once you weave 3 handseals, and slam your hands into the ground, you manipulate the ground to materialize forth two gigantic rock formations from the either side of the opponent, which close upon him with tremendous force. This is a very large scale technique and in the manga, was used to pressure the Juubi within it. The size is such that the Gedo Mazou statue is miniature in size in comparison with it. The best way to crush summonings within it, as well as brutally murder your opponent. Due to it's size, it can only be used mid-range from the user and can only be used twice, due to the insane chakra it requires. Nearly uncounterable, because of it's sheer speed and size. Merging with the rock formations won't work at all, i.e. Leech All Creation(B Rank) since the rock formations have a higher chakra quantity within them(70 chakra, S Rank).

(Doton: Dai iwa Kyojin no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Great Stone Golem Technique
Rank: S
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short - Long (Made short range of the user with a long range reach)
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description: The user creates a even larger and stronger version of Earth Release: Stone Golem Technique. However, unlike the smaller version, the user creates this stone golem from the ground solely. The user will slam his hand on the ground, manipulating it and shaping it into a large warrior of stone which he can control as long as he keeps his hand in contact with it or with the ground and keeps fueling the technique with chakra. The golem can reach heights of 30 meters and is quite massive but seems to also be capable of moving quite fast as well.

Ah, another canon technique, which is widely used. After slamming your hands into the ground, you materialize forth a massive warrior of stone, which is shaped like a golem. The golem can reach heights upto 30 meters, standing in opposition with summonings, with ease. You can partially manifest an arm, or the whole body, it all depends on you. The golem can be controlled by fueling chakra to it. You can control it's movements, like making it's hand crush opponents, or using it as an Earth source for other techniques. Even though it's so huge, it can move quite fast and is pretty deadly. You can also ride atop the golem, if you manipulate the golem to rise beneath you. Like other techniques, once you stop fueling chakra, it becomes a chakra devoid, and lifeless stone warrior. Again, the range is pretty terrific.

Pretty much the ultimate form of the emerging pillars then as it doesn't require you to slam your hands on the ground either. Doesn't even require handseals either, making it fast. Great to use while your opponent is trapped in a genjutsu or can't focus what's happening to the earth below him. Even airborne targets could fall prey to it as they don't feel the tremor, but that'd mean they can't fly very high i suppose.

Awt muh babies. The ultimate terrain enchanting earth techniques i'd say that is cannon. The fact that it shares no damage points means that it is like you said, used mostly to defend yourself against gigantic attacks by creating a mountain under you. Basically makes you skyborne without leaving the ground, so to say. Can't be overused though like you said. Both are acting without the need of handseals and are very fast techniques and is also giving the middle finger the gigantic summons as you can trap them in huge pits or dodge them as they're about to run into you by creating a mountain to dodge the hit while they run into the mountain. I would use the tremor quack along with this often if i create pits with the jutsu as the pits could reach so deep and are massive.

Doton: Dosenkiryū) – Earth Release: Earth and Stone Dragon Technique

Impressive summon actually even if you would lack a contract. It lacks some description though as it doesn't say if it could stay in the battle under a longer time or if the user controls the dragon or if it's self aware. Still a very cool jutsu indeed.

Doton: Kaido Shōkutsu) - Earth Style: Opening Earth Rising Excavation

A jutsu i barely see used. Mostly because what'd there to be brought up from the ground unless the battle takes place on a minefield or something. However it could be used to bring out gigantic summons like Manda, should they be underground and needed to emerge fast.
Other than that it's not really useful as i see it. I guess you could bring up an underground lake though and make it emerge under your opponent which would create a massive water volcano effect.

The only cannon jutsu i've seen to top Kirin in dps. Merging with the ground is useless which means your only counter would be using something that would overpower the earth. S-ranked lightning would be efficient such as Chidori Nagashi to destroy one of the slabs although i don't know if you would still suffer damage by the other slab since it still moves towards you in incredible speed.

Reminds me of the earth dragon although doesn't seem as flexible so if used against summons it should be against a large and not flexible one i'd say. Quite a basic jutsu actually even though it could be used as great many things. Basically a gigantic body of easily manipulated earth to use a puppet to destroy your target. Tanks most cannon techs as well.

The Earth dragon stays as long as you fuel chakra to it.
And, you can go underground, but can't merge with the slabs themselves. Nope, Chidori Nagashi would barely do jack to the slabs. They're super massive in size, and width, and Nagashi can only neutralize low ranked Earth structures and Wood jutsus. Chidori wouldn't work either, since it is very focused, although, it can cut through the slab, but barely does anything.
The best bet would be to use a large scale Lightning jutsu, like Chidori: Raimei, if timed right.

Alright now. Time for the 3rd method.

Method 3: Advanced Conversions

This method is just like the last one, however, it involves changing the structural foundation of the earth as opposed to where previously, we were just focusing our chakra into the ground to create/manifest entities or manage techniques. These techniques in this method involve channeling one's chakra into the earth and changing the substance to create mud, sand, gravel, etc. These techniques fall into a different category than the previous method because of the fact that it's changing the substance from pure earth to something more refined and almost different entity all together, however, still being considered earth.
You know the drill. Adv and disadv. :scorps:

I wanna start with the disadvantages and that would be that Method 3 all depend on that there needs to be a source of earth that you can manipulate. Also that most of them doesn't deal any damage themselves unless you use it to drown enemies into swamps. They are also very tactical based which makes them uninteresting for some. The strengths would be that it allows the user to tactically change the environment to his liking or even counter a lot of earth-based jutsus by the opponent by using earth chakra to liquify(creating mud) out of defensive stone slabs etc. I think the most used technique in this method is swamp of the underworld.. Very versatile and effective way of changing the terrain in an instant.

Hm, not bad points. Swamp Of The Underworld is indeed a very useful jutsu. Overused though.

Advantages of Method

Simply put, this method adds another level of versatility to the earth release element. Earth techniques are not limited to being solid rock hard entities. The techniques in this method entail manipulation of ones chakra and the earth for structural manipulation. Primarily creating mud or softening it to sand or gravel. The general purpose for such techniques would to give more complimentary properties such as adhesion, allowing for travel underground, or to disrupt one’s balance by lowering the amount of friction as a result.

Disadvantages of Method

Same rule of thumb applies as with the last method. I’m still on the side saying you’d need to be connected to the ground for these techniques as they involve changing the actual structure of the ground and is basically the same as the last method only, dealing with alternative version of earth release. Connected to the ground, or atleast mid/long range from it, depending on the specific technique.

(Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu) – Earth Release: Hiding like a mole technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user changes earth into fine sand by channeling chakra into it, allowing the user to dig through it like a mole. While underground one can sense what is happening on the surface and use the information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. Once can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy cant reach. It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where the user entered the earth. While inside the earth, the user cannot make handseals and can only use Earth techniques below C-Rank. If he tries to do a higher ranked technique, he'll disrupt the Hiding like a mole technique and be left crushed.

Already learned this one but..

(Doton: Doryū Taiga) - Earth Release: Earth Flow River
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After forming the needed hand seal (Tiger), the user transforms the ground underneath their opponent into a river of mud that throws them off balance and carries them away from the user. The mud created by this technique can also be used as a medium for the Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet technique.

(Doton: Tsuchi Douyou no Hira) – Earth Release: Earth Shaking Palm
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: After performing snake hand seal the user slams their hand on the ground. The result is that the ground becomes heavily turned up with chunks of rubble popping out of the ground. This technique is used as a means to distract opponents to either create an escape or follow through with a surprise attack although it can also do some damage or be udes to destroy enemy earth techniques of equal rank and bellow.

Doton: Hokoriheki no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Dust Wall Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will manipulate their chakra releasing it into the ground and with a wave of their arm or through the application of a weapon can cause a small wall of dust particles and sand to rise up from the ground and thrusting forwards. This technique creates a simple dust screen that will fade away after 3 turns.

(Doton: Doryūha) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Wave
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing the required hand seal sequence Rat → Snake → Tiger the user creates and rides a wave of earth that can branch of to attack from a distance. The user can also use the technique to manipulate the terrain and trap the target by wrapping earth round their legs preventing them from moving
^might be method two since it "summons" the mud and doesn't create it from earth itself but listing it anyway..

(Doton: Yomi Numa) - Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will first perform Boar → Tiger and then by changing the surface of an object beneath an enemy into mud and creating a non flammable swamp, the user can sink his enemy into the mud. The adhesive, chakra-infused mud ensnares the enemy's body, making it almost impossible to recover one's strength and escape from the swamp. The size and depth of the created swamp depends on the user's skill and the amount of chakra used, but if the user is an expert in this technique, it will always be possible to make a fair-sized swamp which is extremely effective against a great number of enemies or when having to face gigantic creatures.

(Doton: Dosenki) - Earth Release: Mudslide Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: After performing a sequence of three hand seals Dog → Ram → Boar the user then creates a small wall of earth to rise up from the ground infront of them and cause a mud slide to form from the wall and directs it towards the enemy target/s to try engulf them.

(Doton: Dochūbaku) - Earth Release: Landslide Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: The user will manipulate their chakra to create the earth infront of them to turn to a lose like quality by slamming his hands on the ground to create a landslide that is directed towards the enemy target in the form of a wave of earth.

(Doton: Kajūgan no Jutsu): Earth Style: Added Weight Rock Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Range: short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A (up to +20 if used to add damage)
Description: The user will perform the Snake handseal and touch a given target (he needs to use his hands in most cases but can release the technique through his whole body if needed) for a small time frame. Upon doing so, he'll use the earth chakra to increase the weight of the target drastically. The technique can increase the targets weight up to 10 times. One interesting side effect of the technique is that when its used on wood based techniques (such as Zetsu's spore clones or normal wood), the infusion of large amounts of earth chakra into it will actually petrify the target in addition to increasing its weight. A similar effect can be achieved in other earthen materials such as mud. The user can also add weight to a given attack (if feasible) to increase both momentum and impact force, effectively adding damage to it.
Note: The weight change lasts 2 turns or until countered.

(Doton: Keijūgan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Light Weight Rock Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A (up to -20 if used to boost speed of a physical attack)
Description: Contrary to its counterpart (the Earth Release: Added-Weight Rock Technique), instead of making the target heavier, this technique makes it much lighter, though still using the same principle and mechanics. The user will make direct contact with the given target (through his hands), infusing them with earth chakra and lowering their weight drastically. The technique can lower a targets weight up to 10 times less than it originally had. This allows freer manipulation of the affected objects, which would normally carry considerably more weight and as such, require a greater amount of exertion to move. The technique can be used on the user or other shinobi to increase their speed, but as a consequence of using it this way, it results in the decrease of the physical force of their blows. The same principle applies if used on a physical attack wich will be faster but will carry less momentum and as such, less physical damage. It doesn't change the "strength" of binding techniques (like Sand Release), where the user is manipulating a dynamic element but will decrease the impact damage of techniques that rely on it.
Note: The initial effects last for 2 turns or until countered.

These two i am not sure if method 3 or 4 but i am guessing 3.

Doton: Chōkeijūgan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Release: Ultra Light-Weight Rock Technique
Rank: S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 40
Damage poitns: N/A (up to -40 if used to boost speed of a physical attack)
Description: A more advanced version of the Earth Release: Light-Weight Rock Technique, in which the user drastically decreases the weight of any object in direct physical contact, but to a much greater extent than that of the original ability. The technique can decrease the weight of the target to virtually zero but the bigger the target, the more time is needed.
Note: The weight change lasts 2 turns or until countered.

(Doton: Chō Kajūgan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Super Added Weight Rock Technique
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: N/A (up to +40 if used to add damage)
Description: A more advanced version of the Earth Release: Added Weight Rock Technique, in which the user drastically increases the weight of any object in direct physical contact, but to a much greater extent than that of the original ability. This technique can increase the weight of a target up to 100 times. Under certain circumstances, the technique can be used to increase the force behind attacks.
Note: The weight change lasts 2 turns or until countered.

Same with those two.

Nope. :coffee:
Can you tell me why?

And, all the Added/Light Weight ones come in method 4, my kind Sir. You're not doing jack shit with the ground in those ones.
