Obviously not every memebre of a new generation will surpass every member of an older generation, to think so is childish.

What the manga was saying is the exceptional ninja of this(Narutos) generation are achieveing and set to achieve greater accomplishments and power than the exceptional ninjas of past generations. Obviously Kiba won't surpass Hiruzen or Tobirama, but he will most likely surpass all members of the Inuzuka clan. You also realize this generation is 14(I think, 15 maybe) and you're comparing them to 30 year old and older adults who have lived through MAJOR wars. That's the equivelant of saying a soldier in todays army is less than a soldier in WW2, when they had completely different circumstances they had to grow up with.

The younger gen will have surpassed the older one by the end, and even at this point there are things that started to change for good, like the fate of the hyuuga clan's branch house, the creation of the shinobi alliance as a symbol of unification between the villages, etc..., the uchiha clan curse will probably be solved too.

It's more of an ideal than a reality.

If that were true, the Five Kage would've ass-whooped Madara, Kakashi would be stronger than the Sannin because Sakumo was, and Tsunade would be able to rip Hashirama to shreads.

But the ideals this current generation have were formed by the previous generation.

Yet Hashi couldn't save Madara from hatred and Rikudou Sennin provoked the so called curse of hatred which is the causative of all the **** we have right now and the younger gen have to deal with.

The point is that there are a few ninja like Naruto and Sasuke that will be above all the others, just like happened with Madara and Hashirama, that's why they are legends, and the likes of Onoki and Muu who are talented were easily defeated by Madara a long time ago for example, and Tsunade is nowhere the level of his grandfather.

Hell, Rikudou Sennin who was the strongest of all time failed miserably and his descendants have failed too, even Hashi who is a monster failed in the end.

That is Naruto augmented with bijuu chakra. BaseMnaMinat is the fastest. And its obvious FTG isnt his speed but if he gets there first than it means he's faster.
