Why wasn't Madara spamming Shinra Tensei around? Why didn't Naruto summon Gamabunta in his fight against Sasuke at the end of part 1? What stopped Kakashi from kamuing away the Deva path's head? Sometimes characters get nerfed in order to keep the plot in its right balance.

He didn't use it , so that means he didn't use it. He also didn't comment or think to himself anything regarding Yata at all as an Edo. So its unknown what would've happened if he used it.
