Yata's Mirrors weakness is that using susano drains itachis stamina very rapidly and he cannot maintain it for long. I don't believe this weakness exists with Edo Itachi.

I feel this is correct sorry not trying to ride the wagon but I feel this is correct. Its not featless it repelled Sasuke's kunai's no matter the minuteness of Sasuke's attack it still displayed something. Are the databooks basically writings etched in stone straight from the horses mouth? Not trying to argue, but I too will take Kishi's word over yours sorry .

The whole legend of it being able to deflect any jutsu has to come from somewhere. The thing people need to understand is that it does not block jutsu.

The thing that people are forgetting is that everyone worships the Yata Mirror because the databook calls it the "Ultimate Defense" But

• Earth Release: Earth Spear - "With the chakra flowing through all parts of one's body, the skin is hardened, increasing its defence power to its utmost limits. The amount of techniques that can break through the areas hardened by the Earth Spear are close to zero, not including its undeniable weak point: Lightning Release ninjutsu."

Take the Kamui for example. The databook said that no technique is possible against it. Does that mean it retcons the Yata Mirror's absolute defense?

Itachi's shield is speculated to be Yata, but not confirmed nor does it have any feats. It honestly looks just like the shield for Sasuke's Susanoo with a spiral pattern.

Madara's fan however has feats that are similar to the description of Yata mirror, but oddly enough hasn't yet been given a name. Every magical item has a name... could Kishimoto be waiting to surprise us?
