You should tell me about Yang, and why it is much better and more useful than Yin, and why anyone who says otherwise better not show their damn faces in my neighborhood.

You should tell me about Yang, and why it is much better and more useful than Yin, and why anyone who says otherwise better not show their damn faces in my neighborhood.
In Asian philosophy Yang is a single half of a whole - Yin and Yang. The two are complimentary yet also simultaneously competing. They are contradictory forces, yet at the same time perfectly compliment each other. So in both the Naruto Universe and in ours, Yin-Yang is a balanced duality that is constantly in motion. This is represented by the ratio between Yin and Yang, the spiritual and physical. You can't have one without the other, and so on. So Yang is characterized as light, energetic, and hot. It is the 'active' of the two, compared to Yin's docile and passive form. It is the masculine, represented by the sun.

Yin and Yang is present in many Asian philosophies; these are most notably Confucianism and Daoism. Because Reborn studies Daoism, and it was used as the basis for Yang on NB, I'll focus more on that rather than Confucian Yang (even though they are very similar). Daoism focuses on the balance aspect of Yin and Yang. It notes that the two forces are always flowing and never in a static state. In the Daoist philosophy, Wuji is the primordial universe; it is essentially 'nothingness' or the void. From nothingness came everything, or Taiji. But because there is no fundamental difference between nothing and everything, polarity is introduced in Taiji, which forms Yin and Yang. From Yin and Yang come the 8 Trigrams, and through that come Creation of All Things (10,000 Things).

In Naruto context, Yang is the energy that governs the physical. It oversees life and vitality. In simple terms, it is the power to breathe life into form. On its most basic level, Yang brings things to life. But outside of this basic concept, the infusion of vitality and physical energy also acts to heal, empower, or even drain and disrupt (as seen with 8 Branched Giant Snake). Yang can alter anatomy as well, being able to create wings, extra arms, extra legs, etc (Ring of Hell). It can alter techniques to become sentient, allowing them to speak, have emotions, use techniques independently of their user, etc.

Beyond this, Yang's connection to physical energy and vitality makes it intrinsically connected to medical ninjutsu and Hidden Abilities like Choji's clan. But Yang goes a step beyond these; the most advanced form of this is Touch of the Sun - the power to heal almost any wound and restore someone to their perfect original form. And, like Yin, Yang can be used to throw off the balance of someone's physical and spiritual energies offensively, rendering them unable to mold chakra. This can cause the person harm. Yang in its raw energy state is a bright and hot energy. But the heat isn't emitted like normal fire. Rather it is merely hot to the touch.

As for the other questions, my good sir, let's keep it civil : )

The philosophical elements of Yang are what they are. I'm sure it's all very deep and complicated yadda yadda yadda. Listen, Yang heals, it empowers, it breathes life into stuff. These are all practical applications of Yang, of which I have been told there are few. Nevertheless, however narrow Yang is the absolute best at what it does; as you so eloquently explain with Touch of the Sun. However the canons of Yang look the concepts, really, conceal a surprising depth. Health and healing under our new system may be represented in numbers, but any checker will tell you that there are some things that medical ninjutsu can't fix. Yang exceeds the boundaries here, as it does in empowering techniques with new attributes, or even sentience.
Anyway, this is all just filler. Let's get to the techniques and start with Change into Hell. I don't demand a play-by-play. Just share your thoughts and your questions, and I will do my best to frantically search for answers in my own training thread.

(Yoton: Jigoku ni henkō) - Yang Release: Change into Hell
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A (+50, -10 per turn)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user is able to use his Yang nature to embue life into an elemental technique, creating a Yang/Element sentient entity that will stay on the field to aid him. The only limit is the size of the technique originally used as an elemental source as the resulting entity will always be half the size. This entity can be interacted with, can act on its own and is made of the element sourced, with all its properties intact. Its strength is based on the original elemental technique used as a source. This doesn't consume time since its actually a skill applied to a technique used at the same time.
Note: Usable 2 times per battle and up to 4 times per event to create one entity with up to 300 chakra points that is able to use jutsu from the source it was created from.
Note: Yang Release masters can apply this technique to advanced fields and CE and advanced elements.

I adore this technique, for a lot of reasons; just the idea of creating another living thing, with thoughts, emotions, and the ability to communicate is amazing. There are a lot of subtle implications to this technique. Namely that you create life in something that will be half its original size. But that's the only shaping afforded to it. Otherwise, if you create life in a pillar of rock, it likely couldn't move very well (if at all). On top of that, you give it an actual chakra pool. That was just mind blowing to me. Spend 50 chakra to create 300 chakra.

So the chakra part means they have an actual chakra system. Meaning they can be placed in illusions, if I'm correct, and they can be healed, as well as have their chakra restored.

Anyways, I don't really have questions on this one. It's just a glorious technique. The Yang mastery with it is cool as **** too. I'll have that on another bio that isn't Hamura for sure.

Pretty much. Very straightforward. Now the next one is for healing. Reborn specified to me that this isn't really battle-friendly. 1-3 turns of healing is to be expected, depending on the severity of the damage. Now, technically the technqiues doesn't include a 'per turn' chakra cost, but just pretend that it does for all intends and purposes.

(Yoton: Taiyōnomegumi) - Yang Release: Touch of the Sun
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra cost:70 per use
Damage points: N/A
Description: Through the infusion of Yang natured chakra into others, users can heal others to their original best physical form. It can be used to regrow missing body parts, heal wounds, purge poisons, etc. The target needs to be alive and the bigger the injury, the longer it takes to heal. The limits of the heal, however, are almost none as it can even heal the chakra system or other injuries that are otherwise not possible to be healed. The technique requires time and physical contact and as such isn't very suited to use in a battle when compared to regular Iryo Ninjutsu.
Note: Yang Release masters are able to use on themselves.

Makes sense it’s restricted in such a way. But nonetheless it’s great. Reversing any physical damage is fantastic. I made the Yin version last month to mirror it in a spiritual sense.

I’ve read Moofy’s and your training on the technique. So I have no questions on my end.

You actually do your homework? Nerd. And as a nerd you will no doubt be interested in Power of the Sun, which basically turns you from a zero, to hero, to "oh shi-.." -level of badassery in no time. Very straightforward technique. The restrictions are gruesome, but if you have a Yang specialty immunity to A-ranks can be stretched a liiiiiiiiittle farther. Think about it, and enjoy your speed boost.

(Yoton: Ken'i) - Yang Release: Power of The Sun
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 100 (50 per turn)
Damage points: N/A (+40 to Taijutsu)
Description: The user will reinforce his own body with Yang natured chakra, empowering his physical abilities to the outermost limits. This allows him to become physically very strong (beyond the normal levels of chakra enhanced strength), increases his resistance to physical damage (he becomes immune to A-rank physical damage from all sources), his speed (boosted to 3x his normal speed), and grants him a passive healing of all minor wounds (cuts, burns, small fractures, etc). However, by infusing himself with the Yang Nature, he becomes unable to use Yin Release techniques or Yin/Yang Release techniques; he cannot use Genjutsu or non elemental Ninjutsu of any kind (including special fields like Fuuinjutsu).
Note: Can only be used twice per battle and lasts 4 turns per use.

Potent, but costly. Certainly not recommended to be used on a regular bio with no chakra boosts of any sort. You’ll burn through reserves faster than Trump burned through wives.

It reminds me of a “pocket” raikage transformation. Potent mode that offers a large array of boosts. My only suggestion is to have the healing quantified. But in its current form I would assume the healing potency is equivalent or comparable to the level 1 wood passive healing (30/turn).

Yeah, as with Touch of the Sun there is a certain lack of numbers on that front. And you're right about the chakra cost, but that's not really a problem for you, is it?
Now, the next technique is a big one. Take it in, read it, and ask questions if you feel like it. I would recommend reading the same threads you mentioned before for some elaborations on this technique and the following couple to come in particular.

(Yoton: Yamata no Orochi) Yang Release: 8 Branched Giant Snake
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 100 (110 for YY: 8 Branched Giant Snake)
Damage: 80 (each branch) 100 (w/ Elements or Yin-Yang chakra)
Description: This technique sees the creation of the mythical serpent, the Yamata no Orochi. The user begins by gathering their Yang chakra into their arms and creating three branching streams of white chakra from each of them as well as coating both arms in chakra. The user’s arms and streams of chakra will take the form of serpents with flaming amber eyes. Due to the nature of this technique utilizing one’s Yang chakra, these serpents are not simple manifestations of chakra, but actual sentient creatures. The serpents can sense entities like ordinary snakes and they share a telepathic link to the user, allowing them to communicate with each other. They act like chakra arms and can be used for a variety of purposes. In the base form of this technique, the 8 branches are simple ethereal constructs of sentient Yang chakra. In their second form, users can add nature release to the branches to increase their power. In their third and final form, the user can add Yin Release chakra and give the branches physical bodies. The addition of the Yin Release also gives the branches unique venom which drains the physical vitality of the victim. The bite from each snake lowers a victim’s physical speed, reaction, and ability to use high ranked physical techniques.
Note: Form 1 is capable by all users of Yang Release, Form 2 is capable of Yang Release masters and Yin-Yang users. Form 3, also known as Yin-Yang Release: Yamata no Orochi is only capable of Yin-Yang Users with an affinity to Yang Release.
Note: The vitality degenerating venom is capable by all branches of this technique, however there is only enough for 3 usages. The vitality degeneration venom becomes worse with every bite. If a victim is bitten once their base reaction/tracking is reduced by half, twice and their base speed and physical damage is reduced by half, and thrice they will lose the ability to use any form of tai or kenjutsu techniques and will be rendered completely paralyzed 2 turns after the third bite if not healed. The victim will be unable to do anything short of breathing, including using their chakra. Users bitten once also become incapable of using physical elevating techniques such as Sage Mode or EIG.
Note: Medical ninja or other Yang Release users can rid themselves of the poison through means of medical techniques or vitality boosting techniques such as power of the sun.
Note: Technique can only be used once per battle and requires 50 chakra points to maintain (60 above the first form). While this technique is in use, the user cannot use any non-elemental ninjutsu, Yin Release, or Yin-Yang techniques (other than this technique’s advanced variation).

Obviously symmetrical to Hands of Sloth as a Yang version. Both versions are great even in their base forms. They take a fairly incredulous amount of chakra to sustain, but as long as you do have the chakra to sustain it has no duration limit. Like in the other threads, it's described like being Dr. Octopus; you have a set of 8 arms, branching from chakra which forms around your hands, and they can be used for a vast variety of purposes. Taijutsu is the primary one, as each arm formed has incredible strength (further empowered by our Six Paths Senjutsu passive). They can even be used for movement purposes, using them to grab other objects and pull yourself towards them or pull them towards you. I believe the arms also can be used as a medium for techniques. So forming a Rasengan can be done at the mouth of one of the arms, done by the user.

While active, the user is able to use a restricted set of techniques. The arms can be healed as well in the case they are damaged or destroyed. Given that Hamura is a Yin specialist, I'll likely only see at most Form 2 of the technique once I get to Yin-Yang. But until then, even Form 1 is very strong.

So all in all pretty cool. I think it's logical to assume that techniques could be created through the 'branches', as long as they are logically possible, of course. Next one is another 'custom' one. You know the drill.

( Yoton: Byako ) - Yang Release: White Tiger
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 70 (-40 per turn)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user gathers Yang energy into his arms and hands, creating pseudo sentient white tiger heads. Due to the Yang energy, the arms become incredibly hot, causing steam emanate from them. The tiger heads roar when the user attacks and releases the dense steam as a result. In spite of the menacing appearance of the tigers, the strikes do not cause bone crushing or outwardly physical harm. Each strike onto the target causes a massive release of yang chakra into the body, which causes an imbalance of Yang energy. The imbalance results in the target's inability to mold chakra sufficiently for techniques. A single strike from this technique is all that is required to imbalance one's chakra. Targets afflicted by this imbalance become incapable of using techniques unless they spend 3x the amount chakra ordinarily required. However, excessive amounts of chakra from this technique (one turn of contact or a total of 4 completed strikes) results in a more degrading consequence. The incoming chakra becomes so great that it literally begins to burn away the victim's Yin Release chakra in order to make room until the ratio of Yin is at its minimum level required for the victim to remain alive. This reduces the victim's chakra pool by 50% as well as cause their body such tremendous physical pain due to the excess physical energy in their body. Their muscles begin to tear resulting in their movement speed being reduced by 1/4th. Other Yang Release users and Yin-Yang users capable controlling the excess amounts of Yang release energy due to their training and thus, will not lose any speed and will only lose 25% of their chakra.

Note: One strike prevents the use of techniques S-rank and above and requires 3x the normal cost for techniques A-rank and below. Yin-Yang Release users can use S-rank at 3x the cost due to their elevated control. The use of Yin Release and genjutsu above A-rank becomes impossible after 2 strikes. All matter of genjutsu becomes unusable after 4 strikes.
Note: The technique ends when the user calls for it or after they've made 4 successive strikes, whichever comes first. While the justu is active, the user cannot use Yin Release or non-elemental ninjutsu.
Note: Usable twice per battle and with a 4 turn cool down.

Pretty wild side effects. Just thinking about how one regular S-Rank can turn into 120 chakra expenditure for someone is nuts. Even for us and our increased chakra pools. It reminds me of a Yang version of Gentle Fist; so rather than striking the chakra points, you're striking their balance of physical and spiritual to create all these wild side effects. No questions on my end. I need to think of ways to land some easy hits.

I feel like the 4th strike (preventing use of Genjutsu) should be even stronger in terms of restrictions. Seems like the restrictions applied are in reverse in potency; using 3x chakra for the match is way worse than not being able to use Genjutsu. So achieving maximum impact from this technique is pretty easy.

Yeah, it seems pretty lopsided, but then again; what's an 'easy' here here on NB, health system or not? People will fight tooth and nail to keep you at arms-length. I do agree though, with the high baseline established with the first strike the following ones should add to it in general, not just specifically restrict YY and Genjutsu. Very Rebornesque.
Now for the final tech, I believe:

( Yoton: Jigoku no Enjin ) - Yang Release: Ring of Hell
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short
Chakra: 80 for touch based version/100 for ranged version
Damage: N/A
Description: By channeling copious amounts of Yang energy, the user is able to infuse others with this, temporarily enhancing their physical attributes. This is achieved in two ways, either by direct touch or proximity. The first is more limited to a single person but has greater benefits; those channeled directly into will be able to block attacks of B rank and below and gain physical alterations to their body that the Yang energy 'breathes' into life, such as twice the height or width of their body, additional arms or legs, etc as long as within reason and used solely for physical purposes. Should the user use the alternative release, then he is able to release Yang energy from his body up to Long range away, affecting all allies in the range. This variant allows the user to augment all allies with the same type of changes, ranging from all gaining wings to more. These changes only last a limited time, however; after 3 turns pass, the grown appendages or changes fall and revert back to normal. Depending on the alteration, one of a few benefits might be obtained.
Note: If additional arms, stronger arms or alterations related to the arm are made, then the target will gain an additional +20 to Taijutsu. If leg based alterations are made, then the target will gain either +3 levels to his base speed or +20 damage to leg based tai. If changes include both, then an universal durability boost of B rank Ninjutsu immunity is obtained and if wings or similar is created, then the user is able to fly at thrice their speed.
Note: The damage and speed boosts listed are passive in nature and are if the user touches someone and used this. If the ranged variant is used, then these boosts are halved (in case of speed and durability, this comes +1.5 speed levels and C rank durability).
Note: Touch based variant can only affect up to two people per event. Ranged variant creates a wave of Yang energy that affects and alone allies lasts up to 4 turns.
Note: Can only be used four times in total.

We're using this on each other in the NW.

Anyways this produces Curse Mark like flesh on another target, creating things like wings, extra arms, legs, whatever have you. It's used in a touch version, the stronger one, or a ranged version which allows you to hit multiple allies with it, albeit at half the benefits. Depending on the flesh added to the target, the benefits change. This reminds me a lot of the Asura path. There's not much of a huge limit to this. Although it doesn't explicitly state it, I don't think you could create additional sets of eyes through this technique. It seems very "limb-centric" (wings, legs, arms, etc). So adding anatomy like another eye or head probably wouldn't work out too well.

So through this you can give any ally an assortment of handy buffs. The coolest note is that, while this is an active technique used on others, the buffs through it are passive.

No questions, really. Shame we can't use this on sentient elemental creations through Change into Hell. Although I do see potential for Yang/Dead Bone Pulse combinations with this.
