The RRoD occurs when the soldering on the processor is melted. This is caused by long term play, left on, no heat vents, fan is broke, not enough cooling, ect... This is a technical problem that Microsoft made since they released the Xbox 360 a lot more early than testing them efficiently. Due to this they compensated for their idiotic race-to-the-stores plan by implementing a RRoD 2 year or 3 year auto repair plan for all 360s that were from that first generation. Unfortunately you'll have to wait 2 weeks to 4 weeks for your Xbox 360 to get back to you and even worse if there is anything else wrong with it. You'll either not have to pay for anything or pay up to 45 bucks I believe, I don't remember well, for the repair for your system. If you had the RRoD and it is just a 1 piece version, there is the 1, 2 or 3 piece red rings, and you don't have the warranty anymore for the RRoD I suggest you just do the blanket trick till it is green again; and just sell it to a game stop or something. It's annoying to get these rings since you can't do anything, but either replace or fix it again. You can send it in for 75 bucks for repairing if you don't have the warranty.
