Hey I wanted to know about XBox 360's RROD (Red Ring of Death). One that appears on power button. Why this happens, is it bcoz of pirated games or some technical fault. Is there some way to avoid it and if happens, is there a way to correct it at Home.

I dont think it is because pirated games. It sometimes happens at random times when your 360 whirring(is that a word?) so loudly,or when you played for hours without air-conditioner,or when you are playing during rainy/stormy days..Or if your house suddenly blackout,or someone tripped on the wire which causes a bit of a spark...<- those actually happened to me and i got RROD'ed each time but my 360 still works after hours of rest.
The only way to repair it is to contact Microsoft if you still hv the warranty,or just send it to your nearby game shop and they will send it to Microsoft for replacement(yes it needs replacement,so it cant be repair)

..I think ^^'

The RRoD occurs when the soldering on the processor is melted. This is caused by long term play, left on, no heat vents, fan is broke, not enough cooling, ect... This is a technical problem that Microsoft made since they released the Xbox 360 a lot more early than testing them efficiently. Due to this they compensated for their idiotic race-to-the-stores plan by implementing a RRoD 2 year or 3 year auto repair plan for all 360s that were from that first generation. Unfortunately you'll have to wait 2 weeks to 4 weeks for your Xbox 360 to get back to you and even worse if there is anything else wrong with it. You'll either not have to pay for anything or pay up to 45 bucks I believe, I don't remember well, for the repair for your system. If you had the RRoD and it is just a 1 piece version, there is the 1, 2 or 3 piece red rings, and you don't have the warranty anymore for the RRoD I suggest you just do the blanket trick till it is green again; and just sell it to a game stop or something. It's annoying to get these rings since you can't do anything, but either replace or fix it again. You can send it in for 75 bucks for repairing if you don't have the warranty.
