Just because you have a strong receive signal, doesn't mean you have a strong transmit signal. And depending on your wireless modem, if it runs at 802.11b/g at 2.4 Ghz, then that's best effort. And is susceptible to RFI, Radio Frequency Interference (microwaves, vacuums, walls with cable and power running through them).
this?^^ and sometimes there are more than one signal hitting your laptop so you might want to find a place in the house where the house signal is the strongest.. Also Macs are awesome anybody says differently can go F.T.S.

Your Modem/Router is smart bro. It is showing you that you have a full signal but in reality you don't. This is because your modem/router dislikes the fact that you're using a mac.

with macs you rarely get a problem but when you do get one it will give you high blood pressure along with it :)
i used a mac for months when i worked for our local newspaper, and it allows you to do little more then what a portable DVD player would

my advice is to either call apple care and get a headache or install linux or windows on that thing

I've had to use a Mac for school work before. Whenever the internet would stop responding I'd just turn Airport off and turn it back on, which would solve the issue of pages not loading.

I suppose you shouldn't have got a Mac.

Funny thing is, all those "Bitchy Little X Users" are correct.

Id love to help you with this one
But Mac is a curseword to anyone who works on computers ever
Im not sure why either i was told this at college and by friends and hell if im breaking tradition xd

Noobish answer would be since when you tilt it the internet works maybe something is blocking the signal somehow since your in a basement and the router is presumably upstairs and house basements have much thicker "Ceilings" then the upper part of the house lol
