Since you think a woman hitting a man is accepted, lets look at the defination :| generally believed or recognized to be valid or correct.
Hmmmmm I wonder. What is the definition of acceptable? able to be agreed on; suitable. if is agreed on by people it's acceptable. Accepted meaning = "believed to be correct"
If people recognized it as a correct behavior then it was agreed on by people. Both definitions can be used here.
