Why was the Uchiha Tablet needed to unseal the Reaper Death Seal?

He was lighting the torches. If he was reading it he would directly be in front of it not crouch beside the torch, obviously he's merely lighting the torch.

Then, what reason would his Sharingan be activated? If it was required to enter the Shrine, then that requirement would already have been fulfilled and he would have deactivated it, he already knows that he'd be able to read the tablet further since obtaining the Mangekyou, which would be something he'd be interested in.

Why are you comparing that to a Shounen manga which uses a simple lineage format?

It's called an analogy. I believe the premises are the same, but I could be misled.
There was no mention of the Uchiha being linked by history, which would have been important for making the theory viable.

There isn't? What about the formation of the Uchiha being after the start of The Cycle of Hatred (with a little summat summat for the Hyuga clan). Their history was linked the very moment the Elder Son was sired by Rikudou Sennin. But this still doesn't establish anything. What establishes what Rikudou Sennin is, is what he used to defeat the Juubi, what was structured around Rikudou Sennin's lifestyle, how these structures have the symbols of the Uzumaki clan everywhere depicting him, how the very jutsu he used is still being used today, how this exact reason is why the Uzumaki are severely endangered, how Obito and Madara must have used constructs of the Rikudou Sennin to figure out SEALS, et cetera et cetera. History has been linked.

His Sharingan wasn't activated when Orochimaru began the ritual, his Sharingan was only shown when he was reminiscing the scroll, it doesn't mean he read the Tablet, it's because he's not interested in it, he doesn't care about the history of Rikūdo and the Jūbi written in the Tablet (he didn't get a powerup either) his inquiry extends only during the foundation of Konoha as narrated by Hashirama and the other Hokages.

Why wouldn't he be interested in the most sacred object of his own clan and it's history? Absolutely preposterous. Didn't bring anything of the sort up. Please, stay on topic.

I said it was shown when he was reminiscing the scroll, not during the reading of the scroll.

Why would it be preposterous? You actually think he's interested in Rikūdo vs Jūbi, Rinnegan, Mugen Tsukuyomi, etc. of course not, he didn't go there to get a "powerup" or learn info from the Tablet, its only purpose was to unseal the Shiki Fūjin, nothing more and nothing less.

If he needed it to reminisce on the scroll, then why didn't he do so when reversing the Cursed Mark seal?

He was never told of Mugen Tsukuyomi, yet he knows of it when speaking to the Kage. He was passed out in the Kamui dimension when Obito explained it. He seemed interested in Rikudo when Kabuto brought him up, telling him he knows nothing of Uchiha. When has an Uchiha not been interested in the Tablet? It's canonical that he was interested in the Tablet, as he read it and discerned some of the secrets of the Mangekyou and it's ability to control the Kyuubi. The only reason he wouldn't have read it is if he had already read it.

Orochimaru told him, he had all the intel and memory from Kabuto when he reabsorbed his cells from him. The Tablet is of no importance to Sasuke other than unsealing the Reaper. Reading it is without merit when his inquiry was only the "Village" "Uchiha Clan Massacre" and the concept of Shinobi.

If you're looking for a "powerup" then wait until he uses PS, Curse Mark, Totsuka and Yata, etc.

I've never mentioned anything of the sort. I'm not saying that the Tablet grants him a power up.

So, you're saying he didn't read it because that wasn't the purpose of their voyage? It makes no sense to me, but I guess we can agree to disagree.

The Tablet was the catalyst to unseal the Shiki Fūjin, the Mask will not work without the Tablet. Orochimaru needed to possess Sasuke to open the sealed door in the Shrine and have one of his lackeys as a sacrifice to unseal the Reaper and retrieve his arms while preserving Sasuke's body, that is the reason why he didn't unseal the Reaper years ago.

The Uchiha Tablet contains information prior to the foundation of Konoha and the Shinobi Villages, ultimately it was Hashirama and the other Hokages who explained these things to him which is the object of Sasuke's inquiry.

Yes, but that doesn't suggest that he doesn't hold any interest in the Uchiha Tablet.

Right, forgot about that. Thanks for the info.

Because its intel is of no use to him, he doesn't plan to get the Rinnegan, revive Jūbi, get Mokuton, device Mugen Tsukuyomi, etc. those are all info. that was useful only to Madara.

Yes, but if these revelations are basis for the war, which he is involved in, he may like to know of such things. I'm not saying that he in fact wants to learn of these things so as to apply them, but that knowledge of it could still be helpful to him.

It's called an analogy. I believe the premises are the same, but I could be misled.

That is not an applicable analogy, the timeline of Shinobi is a great deal shorter, which means they couldn't be distant and direct, but rather distant or direct and since the manga stated the former, I choose to go with the manga.

There isn't? What about the formation of the Uchiha being after the start of The Cycle of Hatred (with a little summat summat for the Hyuga clan). I've never seen anything surrounding the Sage to do with the Uzumaki Clan. What I have seen is a lot of tomoe/magatama and shapes representing Banbutsu Souzou, don't confuse them for spirals. The Sage created and used ninjutsu as it is known at present, the Uzumaki have shown the ability to use nothing but seals.

According to previous theories I've seen, Obito should technically be an Uzumaki now and have the Rinnegan in both eyes, neither of which has been proved. And the idea of creating children? Do you realise how sick that is? Besides, it can't be possible because if the Sage had 'made' them, their personalities would be pre-made too, the Sage had to choose which son's ideal that he preferred, if he had created them, that would not be necessary. Plus, the manga specifically stated that he was born and that is the past participle of bear as in to bear a child, that means unless Rikudou had a *** change, he didn't just create them out of thin air.
