Why the "stop pairing kids" and the "pairings ruin the series" complaints are BS.
Whenever people talk about pairing members of the main cast such as Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, Sumire, etc... , you always have a few people who come out with:
"Stop pairing kids!"
They say this as if these pairings are perverse or pedophilic or something to that nature.
We also get people who say that pairings ruin the series (which is also a BS statement).
Allow me to explain the following things:
1. Why the complaint "stop pairing kids" is stupid.
2. Why pairings can't possibly ruin the series.
1. For starters, when people talk about pairings such as BoruSara, BoruSumi, etc... they are generally saying that said couple should/are likely to get together in the future. They are not saying that Boruto should snag Sarada or Sumire right at this moment (or even at his current age) and take them to the bedroom! Therefore in general, nobody is advocating for any underaged inappropriate activity.
For the most part, fan pairings in series like this are based around one of two things:
1. Interactions between the characters that we see when they are younger, or...
2. Power/Genetics (in the case of some pairings like SasuKarin, SasuHina, etc...)
Now this thread is mainly about number 1.
Those of you who think that there have been no interactions in the series that hint towards possible future pairings should really read this next section in the spoiler tag. If you already acknowledge that relationships and interactions shown between certain characters (when they were children) hinted at and developed the pairing of said characters, then you may skip the spoiler (or you may read it if you want).
As you can see from the spoiler tag above (or from your own mind if you already acknowledge this point), the writers themselves actually purposely encourage fan shipping by putting certain interactions, dynamics, and relationships in the manga, that hint at possible future pairings.
In fact, Kishimoto himself once said in an interview (long before the end of the series), that he himself "hoped that Naruto would return Hinata's feelings".
That statement alone says that the writers consciously and purposefully write in hints and nods towards pairings. Sumire and Sarada literally just had a conversation about women liking Boruto for crying out loud!
Therefore, if you claim that pairing fans have no hints or development to go on, then you are just being ignorant!
Now what is my point in saying all of this? Well, to bring this altogether:
Nobody who pairs these children (except for maybe a few perverse fans) are advocating for any underaged activity, and instead, these pairing fans are essentially just making predictions of the future based on hints and nods that the writers themselves clearly put into the manga for us to notice!
In other words, making pairing predictions is simply an exercise in reading comprehension and literary analysis! Therefore, if any you pairing haters bash us for pairing these kids, then you are basically just bashing us for literary analysis, and you are missing half the point of literature as a whole!
That is why the complaint "stop pairing kids" is utter BS! Nobody is really pairing "kids". We are making predictions about what pairings will come to pass in the future based on literary analysis! Are you really going to sit up there and tell us that we should just ignore the hints and foreshadowing about the future that the writers give us, and that we are perverse if we don't ignore it?
Now moving on to my second point:
2. Some people say that pairings ruin the series.
BS! BS! BS! BS! I cannot emphasize to you how stupid that is for a series such as Naruto.
If you take the time to do some rudimentary math, you'll realize that in the case of the Naruto series, pairing related material most likely influenced around 1 - 2% of the plot! Even then, most of that influence comes from Sakura's obsession with Sasuke, and since Sakura was a main character, you could really say that most of that 1 - 2% influence wasn't really pairing influence, rather it was specifically Sakura's influence. Let's look at someone else though.
Take Hinata for example. People love to bash her and use her as the symbol for pairings ruining Naruto (series), but take a minute to think about this:
Exactly, how many chapters did Hinata ever even appear in (out of 700 chapters)? Of those chapters, in how many was she actually relevant to the plot?
I can count on my hands the number of times Hinata was actually relevant to the plot (up to chapter 699):
1. Hinata vs Neji (chunin exams)
2. Hinata telling Naruto about the byakugan's blind spot.
3. She was there in the Itachi pursuit mission, but she didn't say or do anything really influential to the plot
4. Hinata saving Naruto from Pain
5. Neji's death scene
That's it! 5 times out of 700 chapters! I said that I could count on my hands, but that didn't even take both hands! That was just one hand! Even out of those 5 times, not all of those times had pairing moments. All of Hinata's other appearances in the series were just brief cameos, small irrelevant scenes that took only about a page or so, or even comic relief.
Are you really telling me that 5 brief little moments ruined the entirety of 700+ chapters?! That literally composes less than 1% of the series!
For what it's worth, it should also be noted that these sparse little moments actually moved the plot forward still, and or saved the MC. If it weren't for number 2 on my list above, then Naruto would have lost to Neji in the chunin exams. If it weren't for number 4, Naruto would have been captured by Pain. If it weren't for number 5, then Naruto may have given in to Obito.
Heck, even going back to Sakura, if it weren't for Sakura seeing off Sasuke when he defected and then telling Izumo and Kotetsu about it the next morning, then Tsunade, Kakashi and everybody else wouldn't have found out about Sasuke's defection until much later, and the events of the Sasuke retrieval arc would have been significantly altered! Naruto might not have even gone on his 2 year training with Jiraiya since he was initially inspired to go on that training journey after losing to Sasuke at VOTE 1 (since he wanted to get Sasuke back). If it weren't for Sakura seeing off Sasuke and informing someone about it, then by the time everyone found out about Sasuke's defection. Sasuke would have probably already been at Orochimaru's place and there would be no VOTE 1 or Sasuke retrieval mission since Sasuke would have been able to leave Konoha uncontested and the sound 4 wouldn't have to deal with Shikamaru's 5 man team.
As you can see, relevant pairing related moments were few and far between, and when they did occur, they were actually very important to the situation at hand!
Tell me again then, how something that doesn't even compose 5% of the series' focus ruins the entire 700+ chapter series?! Also, notice that I just touched on NH and SS. The other pairings didn't even take up any relevance in the manga. (ShikaTema was there, but they weren't being all romantic and what not).
As a final note, none of the pairings actually even became canon until the last freaking chapter! Are you people saying that one chapter ruined the whole series?! BS! This sentiment also applies back to the "stop pairing kids" BS complaint, since regardless of how many kids we pair together, none of it will probably fully come to pass until the last freaking chapter (when they most likely will be at the adult ages that you so freaking crave), and you are just being stupid if you act like you don't know that!

You people may try to claim that there are no such interactions in the series (Naruto or Boruto series) that support pairings and fan ships, but if you say that, then you are clearly missing details. 90% of part 1 Sakura's character revolved around "Sasuke kun, Sasuke kun"! There was that small percentage of her character that was about Sakura wanting to keep up with and not burden her team mates, but other than that, she was entirely about Sasuke. There was a whole chunin exams fight (Sakura vs Ino) that dedicated scenes to showing how Sakura came to "fall in love" with Sasuke, and how her and Ino's rivalry stemmed from this. She even confessed to Sasuke just before Sasuke left Konoha, and was met with a resounding "thank you (knock out)". This event actually soon led to Tsunade being informed of Sasuke's defection, and the subsequent assignment of the Sasuke retrieval mission. Years later, even at the end of the war, Sakura still professed love to Sasuke.
Now, I am not advocating for or bashing the pairing (SS) itself, but you cannot honestly deny that the above events served as some kind of interaction or development (be it positive or negative) that gave us at least the slightest hint that SS could become real in the future.
Moving on to NH, it was heavily implied (pretty much given to us) in part 1 that Hinata liked Naruto. There were also positive interactions between the two. Hinata gave Naruto ointment after his fight with Kiba. Naruto swore to avenge Hinata after Neji hurt her. Hinata told Naruto the secret about the byakugan's blind spot (which later proved invaluable against Neji), and Naruto complimented her saying that he likes girls like her. Moving on to part 2, Hinata straight out confessed to Naruto during the Pain fight, and saved him from Pain by getting stabbed (you can't deny that if Hinata hadn't gotten stabbed that Pain would have captured Naruto). Later during the war, Naruto saved Hinata from some Zetsus, pointed out that Hinata saved him twice already, and called her strong. Then Neji's death came, and Hinata restrengthened Naruto's resolve just as Naruto was about to give in to Obito. A short time later, Hinata even fixed Naruto's dislocated shoulder.
Just like with SS, you can't deny that these interactions acted as at least the slightest tease that NH would happen.
Even ShikaTema was teased at. These two have been paired together (be it in battle, during obligations like the chunin exams, during the war, etc...) so many times throughout the Naruto series. Even Naruto himself once teased them and asked if they were on a date. You cannot deny that as a hint towards the pairing.
