Why is Minato The Fatest and Not Obito?

Not exactly true. If you wanted to get technical you could blame what happened in the image above on that Obito has never seen Flying Raijin Level 2 and therefore miscalculated the technique. Obito must be fast to keep up with Naruto in Kyuubi Chakra Mode, which was on par with A's speed, who was only second to Minato's.

The reasoning here is funny, as usual. Obito reaction speed to activate S/T Jutsu is unmatched. Not only does he warp his body that comes in contact with any attack, but he unwarps it with such a speed that it seems that he has attained an intangible body, which is completely false.

The only reason Minato got him was because he had to materialize to attack, which is his technique draw back.

Minato is faster at arriving at a specific location, although Obito has more flexibility, because he is not restricted to Markings. Thus, why he claimed obito's to be better.

In any case, we are not to say how fast Obito is, simply to observe their S/T Ninjutsu which I've established so far.
Minato's is faster, but Obito's is more efficient. I don't know who else agrees with this though. Prove me wrong if you like.

but do we agree that both should be considered fast shinobi not just minato because they both use space time..in speed threads no one ever brings up obito but they bring up minato cuz of his speed but his fastest speed is space time ninjutsu which is the same type of jutsu minato uses even if he's better at it

The main idea behind this thread was to make people realize that when they speak about fast people, they speak about A, Minato, and Naruto but never about Obito who uses space time just like Minato.

Obito does not lack any of those bolded traits...He just simply has a slower s/t tech than minato.

He does lack them.When kakashi and Naruto found out a way to attack him was he helpless and confused.Didn't seem to know how to react and stop them.If Kakashi wanted to kill him he could,even though Obito had a way to counter them.That doesn't indicate a sharp person with good reflexes.

He can't touch him because he uses kamui to go intangible,not to move from place to place.Speed requires for person to move from point A to B,to be measured.Obito transfer parts of his body in and out kamui dimension.Totally different thing.
His base speed and the only one his uses to move is this.

Here he doesnt look confused and helpless, in fact on the next page of this scan he clearly analyzed kakashi's plan, proving that he can easily keep himself composed during battle and even if kamui is exposed. Also keep in mind that obito is fighting 3 people at once...and one of those people is the sole reason why he's even damaged, fact. Put obito up against any of those characters 1v1 and he will outsmart & outplay them

Also about kakashi having the chance to kill obito, If kakashi didnt have kurama to help him out then he would've died before he even got to see obito's face...The combined efforts of three extremely fast characters still couldnt handle him. Kakashi needed kamui and even then, obito still looks as composed as ever

Minato is the fastest because he surpassed the limitations of speed and movement when he did the FTG level 2. Obito's does surpass his technique in a way: Obito can teleport a part of himself into another dimension while still being there.. and btw Naruto is now faster than the Raikages so it''ll be like this from the number 1 fastest shinobi:

1: Minato
2: Obito
3: Naruto
4: 3rd & 4th Raikages
5: Gai (with the gates)
6: Lee (with the gates)

Minato is faster than obito because FTG is instant. Speed is determined by how quickly you can get from point A to point B. Obito is fast (probably #2) but minato is just faster, thats his trait

Actualy, In terms of speed, Minato can go from any point to Points D, L, M, H, Q, S, K, E and X instantly, and Obito can go to any point is less than a second.

That goes against what you just said though, tobi's intangibility is a result of him teleporting his body back and forth. Also minato has to through a kunai or something with his tag first. Also all the times we've seen tobi teleport himself he was talking to someone while he was teleporting and purposly going slow.

The only fight Obito has been in after he was fodderized by Minato is the one with Konan.In which he had to result to Izanagi to get out alive.
If he was that smart,fast and sharp as you believe he would just teleport in another place with the speed of light (as he did at that page you put) and come back after the explosions.But instead he wasted an eye for Izanagi.True genius indeed.
Of course he is confident when he knows how exactly to counter attack.The one time he got truly cornered,he didn't seem to be able to do much though.Again a demonstration of pure genius.
Kakashi was shocked and didn't even try to dodge or attack Obito,don't get confused,if Kakashi was actually trying, Obito wouldn't have been able to land a single blow on him.And Kurama only gave chakra to Kakashi a second before he went into kamui's dimension.He was fighting zetsus and 7 swordsmen for a whole day he wasn't exactly in his best shape.The moment Kakashi decided to actually make a plan and attack Obito he did pretty well,with Naruto's and Kurama's assistance.And yes Kakashi could easily trade a punch with a raikiri but he didn't want to kill him.
Obito wasn't alone in that fight I think a guy name Madara with his perfect Susano'o jump in too.
Obito never demonstrated teleportation from a place to another during a fight.He can do it but never used it.Fact.He only used it in situation when he was relaxed.His kamui teleportation can't be compared to Naruto's, A's, third raikage's and Minato's speed.Simply because he never used it in a fight like those mentioned above did.
So no, his teleportation speed can't be on par with Minato's or be included on a top list because he can't use it in all kind of situations.
