It was stated by Sasuke not even him could have defeated the whole police force, and why would he ask Tobi for help? I'm sure it wasn't just to give his conditions.

Just get out with these fanboyish statements. It has never stated that precisely. Just get out.
Don't avoid answering a piss easy question.
Both plans were a gamble. Naruto could have turned out like Gaara. Tobi was a loose end in IItachi's plan although Itachi did plan for it.
BTW: ITach was 11-13 when he made that up.
Minato was 22-28 or something.

It wasn't a plan at all.... any moron could figure out that tobi's strong so let's put a chakra demon in a baby so he has enough strength to fight him. Gaara's dad had the same "plan." Operation "make my son strong" succeeded, sure, but that's a one day plan with one thing that could go wrong, and that's that the nine tails doesn't synch with naruto, minato didn't write the f**kin da vinci code here.

A few minutes for a 2 minute plan........ a few weeks for a 10 year plan...... kinda evens out the scales here.
That's like saying using a gun to kill a murderer is a genius plan. It's kinda a no brainer.

We haven't seen Guy fight Susanoo at all. We can't assume he can beat him. It was stated that raikage is the fastest shinobibesides naruto tb now. And the strength of Tsunasde was greater than raikage, which can mean that is stronger than guys. Shikamaru is tactical as well, but it hasn't been shown that he is a smarter than Itachi. After all, Itachi did many things at a young age. Now I can agree with you that shikaku might me smarter than Itachi.

Sasuke even said itachi could'nt have taken the uchiha clan alone, He does'nt even have enough chakra to take out 20 alone, His stamina would deplete after three maybe four of those techs especially after using susanoo. Besides back then his susanoo didn't have those weapons.

Smarter than the guy who steps on a bug as his biggest accomplishment. I would chose a failure of a bank robber over a baby who succeeds in sucking his thumb any day.
Add 2+2 and nobody really cares. Attempt to solve the unsolvable equation and fail and you're still gonna be famous for it.

Despite the fact that Minato too was heralded as a genius — a rare genius that appeared only once in a generation? So we have two geniuses, and two plans. One succeeded and one failed. In what way you can now prove Itachi is smarter, I do not know.

1) Itachi killed his clan as an assassination that was un-expected.. Not even CLOSE to killing the whole clan in a real fight.
2) Whoever said itachi is the smartest guy in the manga is a dumb-ass. Shikaku is steps ahead of armies.
3) Itachi is easily top 10 but he is not 1 like many wanna say.
4) Amaterasu is not THAT hard to counter. Fire Sealing Method: It takes chakra in fire nature and seals it stated to even be able to seal Amat as it is fire and it is of chakra.
5) We cannot elaborate Minato's intellegence to its fullest but from what we have seen he is top 5 in wits thus far. (created S/T nin with a formula, Created a bijuu dama-like move, Figured tobi out in moments, Set naruto up to defeat tobi in the future knowing he could somewhat control ninetails.)Kishi made this evident. Maybe if we saw MORE of minato we could say he is smarter but thus far i think they are par.

Is this guy a joke or just troll/hater? Itachi admitted he failed, there is nothing wrong in failing and realizing it, most genius in history failed at some point, btw Minato's plan was a success but the plan itself its worth a chunin level thinking, Itachi planned something really complicated thinking years ahead, but the circumstances and his age made him realize he failed and he did. Despite all that this thread was mostly created to complain about Itachis techniques and fighting scenarios, and thats basically Kishi's fault for giving a character such an impressive feats and almost no restriction to their abbilities(Tsuku, Totsuka).
Anyways this thread should be closed or blocked, the amount of feedback is going to result in flaming and the thread got repetitive since page 2.
