there is so many problems with this postIf someone's commited a crime worthy of the death penalty, then right after the sentence is over, just march them to the chopping block, don't torture them with prison any more. I'd rather just be executed anyway rather than spend an excessive amount of time in prison. Also, why not release the ones that don't deserve the death penalty and merely have them repay the person(s) they harmed. Unless you harmed someone, there's no reason for the police to get involved. Oh, and lets do away with lawyers, they just make money off of other people's suffering. If you want a truly just and fair trial, then you need two trustworthy witnesses and thats it.
Oh, that's right, justice is blind, I forgot. U_U

Question.well you said that the convicted should just be dragged to the ''chopping block''
...Question.
If I give you some anesthesia and chop your head off in a single, swift motion, how's that worse than a lethal injection?
Don't use the word 'civilized' or 'barbaric' in your explanation, please.
Governments all over the world control billions of people and have the right to send you to war, take your money and lock you up.
Why shouldn't the government have the right to, with the approval of the judicial power, take the life of its worst criminals?
Some nations retain the death penalty though they all but never use it, like many nations in the Caribbean. They retain it because it's a sign of their national sovereignty, and it's an obvious sign that they don't want the UN to dictate their laws.
the first act toward a civilized society was the consensus between humans not to kill each other, we all waved a certain part of our freedom so that we are able to live in a (lets say) prosperous society (compared to what we were before). And with the act of capital punishment the very institution that is supposed to uphold the norms of our civilization, the government, is breaking the most fundamental and the first norm that we set to build our future on as a civilized race.
Super, so you support mass murder being punishable by incarceration?
yes I do support incarceration over capital punishment for any crime except in the most extreme casesSuper, so you support mass murder being punishable by incarceration?
And the consensus between humans not to kill each other has never existed; there has always been conflicts and murderers.
you mean species?the first act toward a civilized society was the consensus between humans not to kill each other, we all waved a certain part of our freedom so that we are able to live in a (lets say) prosperous society (compared to what we were before). agreed and agreed. @bold part: puh-lease the UN seems more like some auction house where their specialist sits in front of a map and starts taking bids for each country.Question.

Only God can judge the people, no one else, I'm sorry that in America people think they can decide the other people's destiny but I'm glad I'm living in the Europe and I hope things will get better in the future. Why doesnt Europe or most of it have the death penalty?
No inbetweens, bro.yes I do support incarceration over capital punishment for any crime except in the most extreme cases
yes there is a common agreement that killing is bad for most of us, there are exceptions ofc but if we didnt agree on the matter (at least the majority) we would just kill eachother over food in the woods
Actually what i meant by that is that in some cases i wouldnt careNo inbetweens, bro.
You either support capital punishment or you don't. It seems that you do.
