Why do people think Naruto will be next Hokage?

Obviously he will be in the future, but for the moment, he doesn't have the administrative capabilities and he'd get cranky and annoyed. This meme pretty much sums up why Naruto isn't yet ready:

Naruto is more usuable outside, doing practical jobs, gaining experience and maturing. Kakashi is more suitable with his calm, coolheaded and intelligent personality, that is why, he'll be next.

It's Naruto's dream and people hope when the story finally ends he will be seen living it. As for being the next Hokage at the moment, I can't see a teenager doing that. He has more to offer as a fighter than as a leader currently. It will probably be another time skip if we see him as Hokage.

I agree with you on the paper work but still previouse hokages were always in action Minato, hashi,etc.
If naruto does become hokage then he would be the type in action.
he would prolly get some one like shikamaru or sakura to do the papers.

Naruto has grown and will grow because of this war...there won't be much of a show left after this war...I mean, the Juubi has appeared, Madara has appeared...everything has been revealed...what next? Naruto has Jounin? I don't think so...I as a fun really hope our gifted storyteller can make Naruto much stronger, as a man, not a God...and that he would befriend the Juubi

Absolutely, Gaara was selected for Kazekage because of his calm and no-complaints personality, not just because he could throw loads of sand around.
