I have nothing against Chouji, let me clear that up first.
However I dont see why people rate him so high in threads (overrate imo).
He doesnt really bring much to a team compared to the other konoha 11.
He can increase his size by a lot and use lot of raw firepower with this size increasing method.
He cant heal people. He doesnt have sensing skills or intel gathering. He doesnt have controlling or trapping abilities.
No weapon useage. He cant use genjutsus. No elemental jutsus. No sealing jutsus. Has no cloning jutsus.
He isnt anything special in terms of intelligence, analyzing skills, tactics, strategies and the likes.
He has only one thing. Raw firepower.
If you have a team that has people with firepower too and they bring additional tools as well,
than why would you bring Chouji?
Some examples of Shinobi from his generation:
Sai can make your team fly, inkt jutsus for all kinds of uses(sensing, intel gathering, trapping/binding) and he can seal.
Sakura can heal (at a really high lvl) and has poison abilities. She is quite intelligent as well (and booksmart)
Shikamaru brings high intelligence, analyzing skills, tactics, strategies and the likes and controlling or trapping tools.
Shino can drain someones chakra, has sensing skills and info gathering and trap enemies. Brings high intelligence and great analyzing skills.
Ino can controll people, intel gathering, spread info through mind jutsus and heal.
Neji and Hinata can shutdown someones chakra and have sensing and intel gathering skills.
Neji is among the more intelligent characters as well.
All these Shinobi, have enough abilities to take down an opponent
(be it with strength/raw firepower or other means), in addition to all kinds of other tools that they bring to a team.
I dont care much about having to attack something as large as the Gedo Mazo, because such a
large opponent is almost never faced.
Chouji lacks a ranged ability on top of having only raw fire power.
All his attacks are done with his own body. In addition he cant silent kill or strike without getting noticed,
because he always has to increase his size to gain strength for his attacks.
So my question is, why is Chouji listed in top 3's and top 5's of for example the konoha 11?
Why is he so overrated (imo)?
