The difference between a Jonin like Konohamaru and those two Chunin is huge, as shown when Kakashi dropped them in about 2 seconds no diff, so of course he wouldn't do as well against Jonin as Sasuke did against Chunin...
That clip from the forest of death, the fire jutsu used is waaaay more impressive in the anime than originally shown in the manga...

So sasuke loses to orochimaru, and Boruto kills a God with a single Jutsu, and who's stronger?
The point is Sasuke can't see Boruto's disappearing rasengan, even with his sharingan, so he's not going to try and dodge it, he's gonna assume Boruto sucks because Sasuke is super arrogant, like when he first fought Lee thinking he was a badass and Lee No diffed him.
AND once again! My point isn't even that Boruto is necessarily stronger (Which he is if you compare fresh out the academy Sasuke to even still in the academy Boruto) My point is that Boruto is that strong without training, when Sasuke a genius! had to train hard everyday since he was like 5 to reach that potential.
Not to mention that Boruto is academically A LOT smarter than Sasuke also, as Sasuke had to cheat to pass the written test of the chunin exam (which was the exam's intention) whereas as Boruto who took a similar test, which was ramped up to be so difficult the only way to pass was to steal the answer sheet, a test everyone else in his class, including Shikadai and Sarada, had to cheat to pass. Boruto took the exam without cheating and got 100% and he never studies and never trains.
But yeah Boruto would probably solo the Mist Chunin..

Yep have mentioned this before. Textbook power creep that trivialises previous feats performed by characters. It's so frustrating because this reflects poorly on Naruto as a series. It is like the Goten and Trunks issue, where they get SUPER SAIYAN at like 10 years of age. How is Goku becoming super saiyan after a lifetime of intense training and fighting AND was considered a LEGENDARY saiyan for achieving the feat meant to be considered impressive when Goten and Trunks did it with 0 effort and while they were probably still sucking on their mom's titty???
Everyone in the academy was pulling shit off that normally only geniuses could pull off. It's so frustrating to watch.

Boruto as a series has once or twice pushed a narrative that the era of shinobi is ending in a time of peace but they pretty much abandoned that from the get go. Nop, they saw Sasuke and he dodged their attacks by trapping them and their weapons in that three and lands a kicks into head, Kakashi intereved only after that. And what Boruto did? Rushed to fight and he would be instantly murdered if Konohamaru didnt saved him from sword stab.

They weren't even targetting Sasuke, they targeted Naruto, and Sasuke attacked them from behind with his Shuriken and Kunai. Then after he kicked them and their chains detached, then one attacked Naruto, while the other attacked the bridge builder, Sakura stood between Tazuna and the Demon bro, and then Sasuke stood between sakura and that demon bro and Kakashi saved them.
Whereas Boruto was going up against Ninja that gave JONIN Konohamaru some trouble...
If you need an example of the difference in skill between a Jonin and a Chunin, look how effortlessly Kakashi took down the Demon Bros...

Exactly, either have them be realistically powerful for academy students in the Narutoverse, and we could watch them grow stronger, or just start the story off while they're older if the new audiences need flashy over the top battles that badly. Don't Break all the physics of the Universe.
OR even if you do want them to be academy students, don't make ALL of them genius' because that's ridiculous, and if you're going to make Boruto an academic and physical powerhouse, make him someone who studies hard and trains hard, not someone who does nothing but is chunin level before he even leaves the academy.

A plot point for Boruto is the concern the leaders of the villages have for the future, fearing that because they're in a time of peace the new generation won't be strong enough to face future dangers, but all these kids are a lot stronger than previous generations so what's there to worry about? By the time they're 13 they'll probably all be planet busters....

One of my theories on Boruto and Sarada is that they’re basically demigods because their fathers ascended onto the deva path of the rinne cycle. Not only did they attain great power but their actions changed the fate of the world. They had become god-like. It’s likely that their offspring have godlike power also. Orochimaru was the biggest threat to the village during Naruto’s childhood. Boruto got Momoshiki and Kinshiki. The enemy that would be the final boss in Naruto’s childhood is Boruto’s first enemy. Its all in rinne cycle. The destiny of stars and all that jazz.
