Think about this topic with COMMON SENSE instead of "internet knowledge". Sasuke got a short cameo when the meotors fell right? Your telling me during that time fans of those characters stood up and left? Does that even make sense to you? No one came to that movie just to SEE their favorite characters, a LARGE majority of Naruto fans like NARUTO itself. Then they branch out to their favorite characters.
Japanese people aren't disrespectful and hold a high honorable culture as we've seen. Sometimes I ponder, are we all mindless zombies who can't even think for ourselves >->
The following WILL downrate the movie
1)SS is the largest het fandom in Japan and if you couple that with the fact that Sasuke and Kakashi are 2 of the top 3 characters you got your problem right here
2)NS fans
3)NaruSasu fans because they got shitted on even more than NS
4)Anti Hinata fans

it's obvious it's coming from them, don't try to hide it, the only real critics i saw for the movie never talked about these typic narusakutard subjects:
Sakura as Naruto romantic interest
the kids and all the family/couples related stuff from chapter 700
yada yada yada
but basically they talked about:
Sasuke not present enough in the movie
Kakashi not having enough screen as the hokage
Naruto not using some of his powers
naruhina being a cute love story and 80% of the movie plot
and basically a tiny fraction of non japanese fans saw the movie including professionals!!!
frankly i'm not gonna lose my time with these whinny cry babies, my ship is canon/married/had ***/had 2 kids/maybe a number 3 on board/one of them is gonna have his own movie in 2015-2016 etc
i'm having enough fun slapping their asses already Lol
but yes i will give my point of view on the movie when i see it but not before, even if it's a naruhina centered movie, surely i'm not gonna like a lot of stuff in it

Defend the NaruSaku all you want, but they along with Hinata haters give the movie negative reviews.
Answer this for me honestly: Do you think Japan fans would buy tickets to a movie they already know is a love story focused around Naruto and Hinata, only to leave the theater and post negative reviews that literally just say "Shit" or "Kishimoto Sucks"? Come on now, man.

In Japan the fandoms are pretty large as well as shippers in general.Its the reason why even the VA's talked about ships in interviews.Even if you are a neutral Naruto fans I personally know many of my friends who LOVE Hinata and are wathcing this movie just for her as also I know a lot of guys who arent shippers but get annoyed with Hinata and are downrating the movie.
Really the ratings for this movie is just a question of whether you like Hinata as a character or not.Its as simple as that.Hardcore shonen fans will HATE the movie

Do you think anything is wrong with the bad reviews Naruto the Last is getting from internet polls such as yahoo Japan, and the comments saying the movie is horrible.
Between the movie critics who released the articles on the movie such as kotaku, and the MODERATE reviews it's getting? I don't see the parallel.

They are definitely not a small portion. Only a small portion are vocal, maybe.
The fact remains that everyone knew what pairing the movie would focus on.
It's not "false-advertisement" or a "fraud" like NaruSaku fans are trying to claim, because that's exactly what they are claiming.

From what I gathered the user reviews are around average and even the professional review sites are rating it average.I wouldnt take that sales figure too much to heart unless we give the movie more time because around 30k tickets were sold along with Kakashi and Sasuke's character designs and those guys were so scumbagish they even advertised Sasuke's quote of "If he is not here I will protect you" to make it seem he will play a huge role and even did large street banners for Sasuke on the Jap streets.As of now its certainly doing pretty good in the Box office but now that all the reviews come out it remains to be seen if the momentum will be maintained.
Its also a little bit like Call of Duty .Most review sites nearly always give the score above 6/10 but the user reviews nowadays suck for the game
Now this is my personal opinion on the fact that you think Naruto fans will watch this movie irrespective of whether Sasuke is shown or not.Point is this movie is a shojo with kisses and shit.Kotaku as good as said the villain is a forgettable guy who only acts as an impediment to the romance plot.If we assume that these Naruto fans are not shippers that would mean they are averse to romance in the series and would most likely not like this movie.
Character popularity polls show Sasuke and Kakashi outmatching Hinata 4x in the number of votes in Japan AND SasuSaku is the most popular pairing in Japan.This should give you an explanation for the low user reviews
