Kishimoto has failed a lot of characters and their titles, not just the hyped one's, but he failed Naruto too with the Child of Prophecy garbage.

I guess the only one that stayed true to himself was Lee, but even then Kishimoto called him a Prodigy of hard work.

Boruto being able to use the Rasengan possibly younger than Naruto, having an element, possibly creating a new jutsu/combining an element with an Rasengan where Naruto did it at 16, etc.,

The list goes on as we learn more.

In a long run, neither Sarada nor Boruto will surpass their parents tho. As for the others, they probably will never have as much combat experience as their parents (I mean Chocho etc)

It's only used for the best Ninja's in history, which is only a few compared to the long run of the Shinobi history. It may seem like alot but that's cause the story doesn't focus on hundreds of thousands of fodders. It focuses on a select few.

None of them are going to be as strong as part 1 Vote naruto and Sasuke at the age of 12. They are not surpassing them.

I see what you mean. But imo, the term prodigy is simply used the wrong way by Kishimoto. People like Naruto who easily adapt stuff have more talent than people such as Sasuke.

^^ This dude is unrivaled in talent imo, I would say that the "non-prodigies" in the manga are the real prodigies.

Rock lee = Mastered the 5 gates, something beyond Neji.

Naruto = becoming stronger than Sasuke and equalling Sasuke in skills in matter of couple of days/ months
