dude im pretty sure itachi is smarter than kakashi. Itachi is a genius. Minato is good at make clever strategies really fast but i think overall intelligence, itachi wins

Itachi has shown the ability to plan for the future and is a master of precognitive thinking.

Kakashi first assesses his opponent's abilities through clones and diversions, and uses those past events to conceive an effective plan.

Minato is very good at coming up with instant counter-attacks. I won't label these as reflexes because he also seems to be able assess and differentiate between a battle of strength or speed, like his battle with Obito.

So, using these factors I think (not saying I'm telling the truth):

I may be wrong, but I though Minato plan was to protect Konoha from Obito. But didnt he fail consider it got destroyed?

Minato's plan wasn't to protect Konoha from Obito. His plan was to defeat Obito in the long run. Obito is the harbinger of disaster, and Naruto is the Child of Prophecy. Considering that Obito is in top-tier intelligence (knowing things that even the Kage consider confidential) and planning out an attack that included release the strongest, fully-powered tailed beast onto Konoha would put a bit of a surprise on Minato.

Minato knew that Obito was more troublesome than the Fox. Minato acted to lessen the casualties and after making quick work of Obito, he did. Minato had no idea of Obito still being alive after he was crushed by rocks. So to say that he "planned" to save Konoha from Obito seems a bit off.

And Konoha didn't get destroyed. Suffer a lot of casualties? Yes. Destroyed? Not quite. Still remained the top of the five villages.

here are the feats:

KAKASHI: battlewise, he proved on almost every battle that he's that good in analyzing jutsu and opponents:
highlights:
- kakashi outsmarted itachi the second time...
- kakashi's analysis on using massive shadow clone training
- kakashi's jutsu invention: raikiri


ITACHI: his feat is just more of a powerup and coincidence...
- sasuke "revenge plot" against him...
- the kotoamatsukami disabling edo tensei
- the izanami
- was outsmarted by kakashi second time

itachi has no "major analytical part" in battles...like in shika, kakashi, or deidara battles...they highlight more on just spamming they're God given abilities til enemies melt...


minato: can also think about and analyze opponent's abilities...almost in all his screen times, he had shown remarkable battle instincts analyzing opponent and countering it with his FTG...if I were to rate minato's style in boxing...it would be a speedy counter-puncher style...

highlights:
- he invented rasengan from analyzing how TBB works
- he battled 4th raikage and 8tails showing efficiency in his movements.
- he battled tobi and analyzed how to counter him fast.
- placed ninetails in his son and sacrificed his own life to protect konoha...(the most f*cking stupid decision) he should've let the 3rd hokage do this instead of him, letting the old man die...he had lot of potential...that stupid minato....

minato's plan was even more effective, right now his son is giving obito a hard time...this is due to the fact that he saw that controlling the ninetails was more effective so he gave his son all and even mixed his own chakra to the seal to observe everything inside naruto...

at least battle wise for kakashi and minato, they have been proven to analyze every opponent and counter them with their own jutsus...kakashi even outsmarted itachi the second time they fought...God these people...
