Itachi was possibly the greatest leaf ninja ever. Self sacrifice for the better good of the entire village.

There probly wouldn't even be a leaf village anymore if the coup went down, other villages would have attacked and took over while the Uchiha tried to take over. He took the entire burden on himself and killed his family, and entire clan.

Itachi got a lot of feats and appearances compared to minato. So obviously minato who doesn't even have half of Itachis screen time.

Plus there would be a bigger impact if minato was alive, getting to see how his son turned out. Seeing his son as the Hokage and getting to see his grandson would be epic. Plus there are so many unanswered questions with him.

Come on now Itachi childhood was stolen from him by danzo,hiruzen, & obito he's been on the run since he was 13 yrs old , Target by all 5 nations force into hiding uptop of spying on akatsuki atleast minato was able to see his son become a hero/savior of the world. All Itachi got was to see his little brother for a last time without knowing what outcome to be or any descendant of his own.
