Lol Kakuzu vs Kisame would be a more balanced match up, if Kisame avoids genjutsu then this could very well be his win

His Great Shark Bullet gets a massive boost from Itachi's Susanno and he could probably get Itachi into a water dome after that (if the Shark Bullet didn't K.O. him(

No offense, but I think that Kisame fused with Samehada would destroy Kakuzu. Come on, Kisame has durable body, tailed beast-like chakra/stamina, ability to get stronger when his opponent is strong, and chakra absorption techniques. The only edge Kakuzu has is his lightning element.

Of course amaterasu works under water. Why wouldn't it? It burns ANYTHING. That was stressed very much when it was first used. It's non-extinguishability and its ability to burn just about anything, unlike normal fire. Supernatural black flames and dat.

Also, erm... this is being discussed like all Itachi could do is Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, Susanoo (which I believe would block out the water but then would have trouble against thousand sharks attack). Itachi also had the sealing sword, which would require little to no chakra to use. And for those saying Kisame would find a strategy to beat Itachi with, have you forgotten how clever Itachi is?? Plus in this condition he has no illness and would actually be trying to kill so he wouldn't do that silly thing where he made Amaterasu barely touch Sasuke. It wouldn't be easy, but I do believe Itachi has this in the bag.

Yeah, what is this random high estimation of Kakazu I keep seeing just because he survived a battle with the 1st and has the 5 elements and 5 hearts. If he's hit hard enough, like the way Naruto hit him but more, all 5 hearts would be K.O'd. Plus you didn't see him giving that much trouble in the war when he was resurrected. On top of that Kisame has chakra-leeching abilities...

Yeah, Kakuzu's a tad bit overrated, but he's still beast. His hearts are fodder imo, any decent shinobi can take one out. He can maybe take Kisame w/o Samahada. Though, he stands no chance against Kisame fused with Samehada, none whatsoever.

Since Samehada is fused with Kisame i dont think genjutsu can work on him i could be wrong though but anyway even without genjutsu Itachi stomps i dont even know why people are debating on this. Kisame has no counter for Amateasu or Susano.

he absorbs susano and amaterasu. he dodges totsuka because as seen with muu, chakra sensing gives you precog. moreover, kisame can protect himself with an impenetrable water prison which due to his gills he can breathe in. totsuka seals what it pierces. what happens when it cant pierce?
