plus probably all Yonko wanted him to get benefit of his experiments and inventions

and finally he has a dream like everyone from straw hat

he wants to surpass vegapunk and be the greatest Scientist

how Ceasar was desperately trying to make the SH crew affected by the fact that he's leaving but they keep on ignoring him (at least that's how it's portrayed in the anime) makes me think that Ceasar actually likes the SH
IIRC its been mentioned in the manga (not sure in the anime) that Luffy has the ability to see through a person's intent so Luffy just might sense how Ceasar secretly likes them.
It also makes me wonder how Ceasar is present in the past consecutive arcs (Punk Hazard, Dresrossa, Zou, and WCI, and I wont be surprised if he shows up again in Wano since his inventions are involved with Kaido) makes him more active/visible in the series than the others within the SH crew.

That statement doesn't apply anymore. Luffy said he wanted 10 nakama before he hit the GL but he went before he had 10. We shouldn't assume 10's the end number because of that statement.


OT: I think whoever it would be would have to fit a unique role and Choppers already their science guy so I don't think it'll be Caesar.
Of your list I think the most likely is Carrot then Barto. Croc, Caesar and Pudding as least likely. Boa and Law probably not.

That panel on the manga where Luffy said he'll recruit 10 (some transalation says "at least 10 meaning it could be more) nakama was drawn 20 years ago wasn't it? Or 15? So many thing has happened since then. Even Oda himself must've not expected for this series to last this long let alone be the best selling one.

Cesar can Create things that are very useful whether for wars or other activity like smiley project
also Cesar can upgrade their ship or if they get new ship the Gas will be the energy instead of weird cola

Kaido and other Yonko wanted cesar not because he is a common science guy

There will obviously be 10 SHs (Luffy excluded). Oda didn’t write that line about Luffy wanting 10 crewmates for no reason, and BB has 10 division commanders, so Luffy will need 10 crewmates to fight them.

Maybe don't be a vague about it and answer the question like a normal person instead of going off like a lunatic. Like Chopstick already said you're referring to an old statement and repeating it again after someone told you.

At that point I can only wonder about what you're talking about. According to an interview when Oda looked back at the first part of the story he was planning for Luffy to recruit a Nakama every arc, and he did that for a while but Oda realizes that One Piece was quickly getting way more popular and the story was getting too long too keep that up. He had to change the way Luffy was recruiting people.

So that statement you're talking about is old news, that doesn't apply anymore. So instead of reading just One Piece maybe read also a bit on the side. SBS's, interviews etc. Kinda helps putting things in perspective that you're talking about something from 18 years ago.

I get that if you binged One Piece in a couple of weeks that everything is super fresh and you think all of a sudden that you're the leading authority on One Piece facts. Sadly based on your posting history you're not allowed to have such a big mouth.

On top of that the idea of a crew is kind of obsolete at this point as we're in a stage where Luffy rolls from one alliance into the next and his actual crew is constantly split up since Dressrosa. He leads a grand fleet with 3 supernovas not counting himself.

So 10 is a bullshit number at this point. Not to mention, in the latest interview he gave he said AT LEAST 1 crew member is still going to join. Which would already put him at 10. So if that happens you're going to have you clench your butt real hard till the end of One Piece that no one else joins. Because boy would that make you look stupid for mouthing off someone who asked you a normal question.

True but I don't think there's enough distinguishing Caesar to validate him. Caesar's essentially a chemist 1st and biologist 2nd, he uses chemicals to change the body and he knows more about chemicals than anatomy. Chopper is the opposite he knows a little chemistry and potion making and knows a lot about healing.

As for the ship, Franky is the engineer and spent time in Vegapunks lab, THE top scientist and found a way to utilize the pacifista laser which if I remember are based of off or use Kizaru's power. Besides Franky there's Usopp who is also a skilled builder.

Did the interview say crew or fleet? Because it could be Bellamy joining the fleet(I hope not the crew)
