who was the strongest hokage & who was the youngest hokage?

The strongest was the 3rd. Kishi himself said that, among dead ninja, that the 3rd was on par with the 4th (at least in his younger days).
Don't forget that the 3rd took on Orochimaru, the 1st, and the 2nd all at the same time, and still pretty much won.
The youngest was also the 3rd. He was chosen to be Hokage around the age of 15.

Thanks. It's kinda hard to tell since we never saw Sarutobi at 30 years of age neither Yondaime at his max.yes. That's how you f*cking do it.
But the 3rd and 4th are on equal footing to me...:/
But I'd say they are quite tied yes.
Though Sarutobi is my favourite as a ninja and his personal values.

Yes! Finally some back-up. I was going crazy with these guys. Sarutobi is one of the greatest ninjas who ever lived if not the greatest.
As you said he defeated those three and won with 69 years of age don't forget... just imagine him at his prime...

I'd also like to add that the 3rd was the longest ruling Hokage, and didn't die in battle or something stupid like that.
Despite leading Konoha through several great wars, he didn't get himself killed in them: he won them.

Yes. He only gave his life when he saw that he couldn't do anymore... Until then he never gave up. Sadly, at the end, his body didn't escape the passing of time, and he lost a lot of strenght comparing to his prime. Enma, who knew him better than anyone said that the fight with Orochimaru was very poor compared to what Hiruzen could do at 30 years of age.
Still he defeated two Hokages and Orochimaru. Even if it took his life to do so.
"When the tree leaves dance, one shall find flames. The fire's shadow (possibly a reference to Hokage) will illuminate the village, and once again, tree leaves shall bud anew." His last words... He even had these awesome, wise speeches...
He was also the greatest sensei in the series, out of his three students, all three of them became legendary ninjas.
He was also known to know every single jutsu in Konoha.

both i think would be the fourth, because the 4th at his prime could take out armies with a single glance and with that kind of skill he must have been gifted at a young age there for he would get recognised faster and become hokage at a younger age than the rest

it's hard to say but i think the strongest was the first sense he could use the taild beast's and mokuton but the 2nd could use water anyware and could use the jutsu with more handsing's with only one of them and had great taijutsu, the 3rd beat the 1st and 2nd at the same time haven if it was sacreficing himself, the 4th created rasengan used an teleport jutsu and could seal the kyuubi so i cant say u's stronger.

Minato pretty much defeated the Rock Country by himself. If you think about it, everybody is getting the shit kicked out of them and oh damn here comes Minato, kunai fly into the enemy lines, then FLASH, everything is dead.

Come to think it about everyone and there sensei(sorry sensei lol) is talking about how great the 3rd was in his prime. Without doubt he was CRAZY strong, BUT
The 4th never reached his prime, he died in his 20's. And if at the age of twenty he is on par with the 3rd when he was in his prime, if he lived longer atasuki would never had existed, he would just one shot them all.lmao.....
No but honestly, people where given retreat on sight orders if he was around. Even orochimaro didn't dare try some crazy sh!t when the 4th was alive.
Bottom line i feel that the 4th is the strongest hokage to date.

You can't compare them. The fact that they were Hokages, means that every single of them is damn strong. BUT their strength is different.
1st - controled the Kyuubi, could resist the sharingan
2nd - Suiton Master
3rd - Very wise, and knew a lot of jutsus
4th - genius, created the strongest jutsu, could use time/space teleportation jutsu...
