Kishi said the 3d was probably the strongest of them all. It's stated in the series, i don't remember the episode though

So I go with the 3d, and also 4th died too young before he could complete other techniques and make new ones. all we know of him is his teleporting jutsu^^
no way i can compare him to the others.

I would like to see Hiruzen fighting when he was 30 years old. This whole forum would shut up and bow before him.

Hiruzen is unarguably one of most powerful shinobi in Shinobi History. He has been called the most powerful Hokage in history, equalled only by Minato. Enma commented on his battle with Orochimaru that it was "miserable" compared to Hiruzen's prime even though Hiruzen had clearly been able to withstand Orochimaru, Hashirama (First Hokage), and Tobirama (Second Hokage), even to the extent of repelling and withstanding Hashirama's Wood Release and Tobirama's Water Release techniques

Hiruzen was called The Professor (プロフェッサー, Purofessā) due to his mastery in all forms of shinobi combat and his vast knowledge of techniques, purportedly knowing all the techniques within Konoha.

So what if Shodaime could control the kyuubi? That's a specific technique that he had thanks to his Mokuton ninjutsu. Yamato can do that too you know? Maybe not to the same extent but still.

Sarutobi is not the Kyuubi so I don't understand the reference when you say "Nobody can defeat Kyuubi NOBODY" while talking about a fight between them.

I agree with him.
Controlling bijuus is one thing and strength is other. I heard this in anime too that Sarutobi was the one who had mastered all hidden leaf jutsus..
if we have a look at his battle with oro, first shodaimeicon:and second :nindaime:it was an excellent battle considering a shinobi of his age.
As for yondaime, its right that he died at an early age and he didnt get the chance of completing his jutsus.
3rd always wanted Jiraiya to succeed him i read this in manga, but orochimaru left village cuz he wanted to rule konoha. Then jiraiya decided not to become hokage and the post went to Minato(me)
I think Body Flicker jutsu of Yondaime is blood line limit..
Its my guess.
When someone will tell naruto:naruto: about it, he will probably master it too.. that will be AMAZING!!!!!!!!

He could only control the Kyuubi if it appeared in front of him, and he couldn't order it to fight at his will. They say in the manga that they were like his pets because with that technique he could control their power and make decrease, he could tame them to stop.

Shodaime never was the master of the Kyuubi. NEVER. The kyuubi didn't obey him, and didn't fight with him.

The only man who can do such a thing, summon and fight using the Kyuubi as a weapon is Uchiha Madara.

The first didn't control the Kyuubi to fight, he could only stop its power just like Yamato did in Naruto's training.

Shodaime could not use kyuubi in a fight. That is a lie.
