Who was in the coffin that scared Madara?

In any case, I don't think Izuna would have said something like that to defend Madara. It is a possibility that he did, in fact, give up his eyes and then regret his decision to give them up, and so he found someone else in the Uchiha clan and took that person's eyes. If Madara had died fighting Hashirama or at some other time, Izuna could have taken up Madara's name and made the Moon Eye Plan. I find this highly unlikely, however.

On a more serious note, Nagato was the main Pain/Pein. He controlled all the other paths, including Yahiko, and Nagato's already been ressurected. I have my doubts about Yahiko being in the scary coffin.
Of course, anyone already dead would be a possibility! But I think Yahiko only had the leadership skills. It was Nagato with the Rin'negan, but now Tobi has it, and Nagato is already summoned. Other than that, I don't remember anyone saying anything about Yahiko having some super-powerful technique or knowing anything about Tobi that he would want to keep people in the dark about. It is possible, of course, that Yahiko knows something about Tobi's identity or something of that nature, but I'm not convinced that it is Yahiko.
I totally agree with what you say. No one knows what happened to Izuna Uchihathe real Madara was in the coffin. Tobi is just an impostor, you see if Kabuto showed that Madara is really dead then, Tobi's plan will fall out of place. the question is who is Tobi?
i think Tobi might be Madara's brother "Uchiha Izuna", i think that after Madara died (by the 1st hokage) Izuna took his eye's back from Madara's body, regaining his sight. he wanted revenge for his brothers death so he attacked the leaf using the 9 tails but failed because of the 4th hokage, after he realized that he needed to do something big, so big that no-one will ever be able to stand in his way, the "Moon's Eye" plan. the story never tells what happen to Uchiha Izuna but i think it's posable..... but will just have to wait and see

The only people I can think of are either Madara, Madara's brother, or possibly the Rikudo sage. These three to me seem like the only ones who could freak Madara/Tobi out so much. I have to put my money on the real Madara who was in the coffin though.

I think its madaras body. He said "where did you get that" as he looked at it or something like that. why should he stop attacking kabuto if it wasnt something really special like that. ok maybe his little brother, but i cant imagine something else... and often madara asks himself how much orochimaru really knew about him. So it has to be something big...

maybe minato? after all he did took on madara and beaten him so madara would have a difficult time to do his plans with minato around and plus naruto as well specially now with the s6op seal on him

I think it's Izuna. Because you'd be pissed and afraid if some nut job who could talk to snakes brung back your dead brother whos eyes you stole. Plus Izuna would know Madaras weaknesses.
