but my opinion the guy in the coffin is Uchiha Madara for the simple fact when Kabuto meets up with Tobi, CALLS him tobi and then says "Excuse me... you go by Madara these days don't you"

no need to argue about this. I am 100% sure that it is Uchiha Itachi... So the question is why i am thinking it is Itachi??
Itachi before he died had already planned on taking on madara and defeating him... Itachi had the strength and capability of taking on madara because he once said madara wasnt good enough to be the best amongst the Uchiha... Madara knows the is a chance for him to lose to Itachi if they were to fight...

Minato - Is capable and did defeat Madara but that wouldnt scare hime
Izuna - probably a better choice because the brotherly kind of deal. he had a special connection to his brother. and in everyones life theres always that one person who can change everything, (sasuke to naruto)
I also like the theory of Izuna being tobi. it has great possibility. im excited to see who it is
also Itachi is pretty much god. hes trying to bring peace the the ninja war beyond the grave.

so to wrap this up. Itachi and Minato can defeat madara. but do you think Madara is gunna cower in fear like he did. just because theres somone who can defeat him? i mean naruto might be able to defeat him. and hes going after naruto right?

Notice how Kabuto/Orochimaru says "Don't worry, I won't tell a soul." In all actuality, it has to be some kind of secret that Tobi doesn't want anyone else to know about, in the form of a person/soul.

I have my own theory about this; Tobi is not likely to be Madara (BUT NOR IS HE LIKELY TO BE OBITO). I think Tobi may just be saying he is Madara to gain respect and fear and to make him seem like an impossible opponent (who wouldn't be afraid to fight a guy that's lived that long?). Of course, this creates a new question instead of answering another, so this theory has a lot of holes. I think it is unlikely that Tobi is Obito, but I can't say for sure that he is not one and the same, simply because Kishimoto could use his creativity to do whatever he wants to his own manga.

Look Tobi is Masada's brother and the Madara was in the coffin and Izene(madara's brother) was scared because he knows that madara would try to stop him because madara wasn't kind of a guy who would hold something over someone like this.

Yeah, I believe its Izuna Uchiha. Or else, how will Madara come along with Kabuto's plot, he could just easily wipe him off.

However, Madara should thank kabuto though, thanks to his edo-tensei army, they have balance against Shinobi alliance, or else it'll be finished easily.

Hats off to Kishi for such a perfect story telling craftmanship!

I'm currently trying to find the manga chapter where this happens...
In any case, Tobi claims that he (as Madara) had taken Izuna's eyes with Izuna's consent, that Izuna had given them to Madara willingly. I'm fairly sure Izuna would not defend Madara in this way.
As for the possibility of Tobi being a Kakashi rip-off, it could be a possibility that Tobi is just using other people's eyes, and that he's not an Uchiha at all. Albeit, this means he wouldn't use the Mangekyou as often, but I don't think he's used it very much anyway. He has several different eyes in his workshop, and it's likely that they're all Uchiha eyes or maybe even Sharingans.
