As it was said earlier in this thread, they trained proportional to their talents i order to produce results, for Naruto that may seem like and probably was more. I'm down for that explanation, but can you explain why it is after a year of Naruto being over people still act like Sasuke never trained a day in his life to gain abilities, I mean lets count them:
1. Sharingan- the kekkei genkai of the uchiha clan, his right by birth granted from genetics. Naruto's equivalent to that is the 9 tails, although Kurama actually stunted his growth in the early stages.
2. Fire style- you mean to tell me that people believe that Sasuke just woke up one morning and knew how to utilize all the fire techniques he showcased. It was stated he trained an entire week to learn fireball jutsu in order to impress his father after he was compared to itachi. Pheonix flower, dragon flame and the rest of techniques were learned offscreen and only showcased when Sasuke was in battle, since you know, Sasuk isn't the MC. I mean he didn't just wake up one day and boom, fire style.
2. Chidori and its derivatives (Kirin, Stream, Senbon etc.)- Learned the original technique from Kakashi and developed the derivatives on his own, as even orochimaru hadn't seen the chidori sharp spear.
(Gonna keep it concise from now on)
3. Curse Mark- Forced upon him by orochimaru and was actually bad for his health originally (where have I heard this before *cough*Kurama*cough*) and gained a boost in power when utilized. He trained to master the form over the timeskip and could even use partial transformation.
4.MS- obtained from learning the truth from obito, as y'know, thats the condition to unlock it. He sucked with it at the start and due to lack of training had to learn it from experience (through the Killer Bee fight (Amaterasu), the Kage summit (Enton and the first stages of Susanoo) and the Danzou fight (V2 Susanoo and briefly v3 when he encountered team 7)).
5. EMS- Itachi's eyes, given to him by Obito, could be called a given power.... but he still had to master it, hence the reason he didn't bust out Perfect Susanoo the second he touched the battlefield, because he once again had to learn it by battle experience and had it for about a day or two, never actually getting the opportunity to put in the work with it.
6. Rinnegan- Hagaromo gifted like RSM, but he still had to learn the 6 paths techniques over time, on top of that ameno possessed a cooldown time when first gained.
Tl:dr- Sasuke never got the time to train his eye related techniques as he never possessed them long enough to show his full mastery. He still trained prior to gaining the MS and learned everything else after that by trial by fire.
OT: Naruto trained more and possibly harder due to his low skill level early on, however Sasuke also trained hard but less than Naruto in the initial stages.
OT: For the most part Sasuke's most talked power ups(mainly MS) lasts for a couple of arcs. This is to say that he worked for his powers through stages and takes his time. Naruto on the hand trains when something huge arises and he gets his power ups within one freaking arc. :| You obviously can't train for MS it's bye bye eye sockets, with Naruto he could have trained any time he wanted(despite having conflicts with Kurama). Know what I am trying to say?
