[Discussion] Who took care of Naruto ..

a maid or someone, maybe even saratobis wife probably took care of him. Saratobi paid for everything, but i seriously doubt he had time to take care of a child like naruto! i wonder when he got let out on his own, and why he doesnt have some kind of guardian? at least prior to entering Iruka's care.
i know jiraiya loves naruto but lets face it....i highly highly highly doubt jiraiya took care of baby naruto! lol

He's hokage he had better things to do then change dipers..ofcourse maids performed that duties.
It wasn't Jiraiya. Jiraiya knew of Naruto, but they didn't officially meet until he was a kid. It was Hiruzen, as everyone else was afraid of him. After that, Naruto lived on his own. It kinda annoys me though... Kakashi knew of Naruto and had respect for Minato, but he didn't even introduce himself to Naruto until he was on the team 7.

He was not sitting at home you know..He is a ninja had missions or his own training to do. He didnot take naruto under his care butmaybe he looked after him from a distance.
Very true, but he could have been a figure in Naruto's life at an early age... but he chose not to be. It's not like Kakashi was on a mission 24/7. Iruka was a teacher and was busy doing teacher things, but he still made time to hang out with Naruto once in a while when he was free.

Naruto is a host not some other kid so maybe it was by 3rd hokage's direct order.
Iruka was a kid in the academy when Naruto was a baby, and I doubt any man did the work of raising him as a baby - it does not fit with the culture described in that world. Also, no important Ninja would have had time to care for a baby, and Hiruzen tried his hardest to hide Naruto's heritage, so he'd have outwardly been treated as all the other practically abandoned orphans we have seen in the story - probably some hired help or an orphanage, paid for by Hiruzen, took care of his physical (not emotional) needs, until he could manage somehow on his own (age 5 or so? they seem to mature early in this world).

Yes, this is what i thought. No ninja would have time to look after him. And so far they have always put him in with the general population, they never kept him locked up or assigned ninja to watch him.
With all the people that died along with Naruto's parents i'm sure there were plenty of orphans and there would be an orphanage.
Also, yes, The Third Hokage would likely keep an eye on him from afar... and maybe some Anbu. The Kyuubi is dangerous after all.

Orphanage took care of Naruto as it dose with Ninja children's with no living relative,Jiraiya was on the road like He always has ben as a Hermit Sage.
I've wondered this myself and my best guess would be that he was simply put into the orphanage system and some random nanny working took care of him as a baby. Hiruzen likely paid for all of his expenses and gave special attention to him though.
