Once again Itachi killed Shisui, he reveals it in the Sasuke fight, I've said this 4 times... this thread is infuriating me.

Well MS is understand due to the fact that once they go thru a painfully situation (Killing someone close to you) they awaken it.
EMS my guess is since they take their eye out but still have the a little bit of DNA inside them (viens, etc) and they attach the new one it conbimes (mixes) both DNA (eyes) together to form the EMS
