Let's be honest about minato...

He's a BASIC shinobi.
He's only powerful because of a jutsu that's too fast to be countered...

The jutsu makes minato who he is... Itachi makes the jutsu

True.

Yes it was since Kishi wrote this manga not Itachi.

This was always the most baseless BS excuse someone could give.

Entirely missing the entire point of not only the thread, but the manga (or any work of fiction) itself.

Obito already concluded who is strong and he knew his sensei's abilities and still went toe to toe with him confidently while the later acknowledged itachi as a powerful shinobi concerning doubt and even bee who fought both minato and itachi acknowledged itachi as a powerful shinobi while the later was able to stalemate with minato top of that itachi took more powerful ninja head on even when sick and Itachi always seems to have an answer for everything.

They are pretty much equal.. Itachi had more screen time so obviously he has more feats but the time minato had, he pretty much made sure that he is up there as well... in fact these two are the best tacticians in the manga...

Sure because FTG made him hokage. You have to be smart to be hokage.

Naruto isn't a genius but he is smart... the dumbest hokage the leaf ever had but he's smart with his feelings.

Minato was a genius.

Minato IMO

He didn't had much time to show us more but against Tobi, he displayed the quickest wits in the manga...

I put Itachi and Kakashi and Itachi in the same league because both conserve their stamina and don't hit until sure.

Minato imo. All things considered. Chap didn't have hax MS techs to immobilise opponents and trick them. Just him, his brain and marked kunai.

Itachi was 70-90% kkg when it came to battle.

Itachi hardly relied on his Mangekyo techniques.

During the War Arc, that was made clear. He made a thorough analysis on Nagato's Rinnegan, effortlessly countered it with Shurikeninjutsu, and casually analyzed Chibaku Tensei's weakness. Bee even admitted that Itachi was more than just strong and yet made no remark to Minato. Likewise, Kabuto commended Itachi for his battle instincts. It's clear that Kishimoto wanted to emphasize just how intelligent Itachi was.

Minato only has FTG to fall back on. He lacks the versatility and skill that Minato has. Without FTG, what can Minato do?

Likewise, if Itachi didn't have the Mangekyo, what can Itachi do? I can guarantee you that Itachi is far more skilled and could do much more without his best ability compared to Minato. Minato's entire fighting style revolves around FTG. Itachi's doesn't.

You're full of shit. Genjutsu was his main thing. How many crows did you see thanks to him?

How did he defeat Nagato? Totsuka susano blitz. This thread is about battle smarts and instincts. Kishi just wanks Itachi and gives him asspulls like izanami.

Exactly. Minato has no KKG so he's forced to use his brain more. He does have rasengans. Speed to match raikage or something similar as he nearly killed him and Bee. sealing jutsus and rasengans btw. Itachi has fireballs and shuriken without sharingan.

That wasn't his only thing and even then, he enhanced the technique even further. It was a powerful genjutsu created by Shisui, but Itachi used it very effectively through clones and feints. Genjutsu was hardly something he relied on as shown against both Nagato and Kabuto.

He resorted to the Totsuka blitz because Nagato was an Edo, so he needed to seal him and he held back against Kabuto.

This at all doesn't refute the fact that he analyzed Nagato's Rinnegan, countered Shared Vision with mere Shurikeninjutsu, and analyzed Chibaku Tensei's weakness. Against Kabuto, he perfectly analyzed all of his attacks, duped him with feints, and devised a strategy for Kabuto to fall for the same trick twice. What has Minato done that compares to this?

Nothing. His tactical prowess doesn't compare and his fighting style is simplistic and boring without FTG.

Lame argument. Out of everybody in the manga, it's mostly the Sharingan users who are commended for their tactical prowess by the Manga and Databook. Kakashi, Sasuke, and Itachi are both praised for their tactical prowess. The KKG argument doesn't work. They merely use the Sharingan to supplement their abilities, but it's clear through the Manga and Databook that Sharingan users are tactical fighters in general.

You're in straight up denial if you're saying genjutsu wasn't Itachi's specialty and go to. All of his genjutsu were thanks to his kkg regardless.

Held back against Kabuto? He sacrificed an eye to undo edo tensei. Countered shared vision? It didn't even really matter since Nagato wasn't using paths. Just a few summons which Naruto & Bee were talking care of btw. Anyone can analyze CT. You're overhyping the Uchiha bros vs Kabuto. He had them stumped for a while.

You're getting your testicle juices. I'm done here. I don't care enough to argue. Couldn't even state an opinion without you having a fanboy fit.

What's Itachis tactical prowess without sharingan again?

Lame argument because you wank the Uchiha. Cool story. Can't stand someone who's not Uchiha being a genius, eh?

The sharingan is nearly everything to the Uchiha because it's so hax. It comes with the ability to mimic any jutsu that's not kkg, pre cog and instant genjutsu built in. You can also see chakra with it among other things. Now **** off plz. Did you see Kakashi without sharingan? Keep in mind he's the best in the NV at tactics bar a few Nara. Once again. Plz don't respond. I really don't care enough to keep doing this.

Minato without FTG >>> Itachi without sharingan. Deal with it.

I accidently voted for Minato. It's Itachi, and by a landslide. Minato's so-called feats are FAR from impressive. He has ZERO decent feats to put him amonsgt the big boys in this category.

His incomplete Kamui deciphering is literally pathetic, as he didn't even decipher the whole thing. Sakura, Fuu and Torune produced far better results and a complete picture.

Is that ALL this guy has going for himself; one incomplete Kamui feat? Greatest tactician, indeed.

Took him few seconds to figure out Obito's ability. While it took others hours.

No, it didn't. Sakura figured it out quicker than him, and the whole ability as well. Fuu and Torune figured out the whole thing quicker than him too. So, who took hours to figure it out? Kakashi took several days though.

Torune and Fu figured it out in the first clash with Obito just like minato did he only was successful over them due to being faster than an inexperienced 13 year old Obito... Some feat

So glad someone else knows this. Repped.

I'll pick the guy who analyzed the Rinnegan's techniques in well under a chapter, the guy who could plan an entire fight in advance and have it go his way, and the guy who analyzed SM Kabuto's techniques perfectly.

That was not all him. Sasuke provided more info on the snakes sucking NE and other abilities.
