Who has done the most for the Leaf??

I love how people are saying "Where is Itachi?" all over the place, and saying he has done the most for the Leaf. SERIOUSLY how fanboyish can you people be???

EVERYTHING that Itachi did is due to...DANZO. Danzo made the order, and from the shadows controlled what Itachi did. So basically, all of you who are voting for Itachi are in fact voting for Danzo. But you're just not smart enough to understand, and instead you insult the OP for being perfectly right in leaving Itachi out.

I choose Sarutobi H. Cos he single handedly stop Orochimaru from crushing the Leaf.

There are others that have done much, but they didn't do up to Hiruzen and I'll give my reasons.

1. Minato stopped Tobi and the nine tails, but if he wasn't there, Hiruzen could also use the reaper death seal.

2. Naruto didn't save the village from Pein, he actually saved himself. Pein wasn't after destruction of the village, if he knew Naruto's location, he wouldn't even bother coming to the village.

3. Itachi was just a tool used by the elders to maintain peace. It was their plan and decision. Furthermore, Sasuke knew that Itachi couldn't have wiped out the entire police force singlehandedly, that's why he asked Itachi about who helped him. [Itachi's response was "Madara"].

In conclusion, Hiruzen trained the ones who later became the three legendary Sannin. The 4th and 5th are his direct or indirect product.
If he didn't stop Orochimaru + 1st + 2nd edo hokages, no one in Konoha could, hence, the village would have ceased to exist.

This is just my own opinion.

1. There was no need for the Death reaper seal. Its only because minato was trying to let kushina see Naruto ^.^ and also because he tried to do it himself instead of making anyone else help him.

2. But he is reffered as a hero because he got Nagato to give back the lifes of people people he killed

4. The village had jiraya at that time to also stop Oro ^.^ and many others were ready ;p.

And without Sarutobi it would have never reached its Peak..

Without Tsunade there would have been no Medical laws in Konoha.. Konoha would have lost the second war.. During Pein arc mostly everyone in the village would have been killed were it not for tsunade giving her chakra to protect others..

and Without Tobirama there never would have been a ANBU chunin exams , and the current shinobi system ^.^

Id say Naruto(Protected village and still is and has turned hearts of many shinobi who hates konoha) Itachi turning on hes own clan to save konoha and Danzo.

So in terms of protecting and doing for the village. Heres how I see the order of ppl who are somewhat protecting the village.

Sarutobi
Itachi/Minato/Tsunade/Jiraya (Sacrifice)
Danzo
Naruto

Kakashi only following orders he hasnt done much on hes own since hes just a s rank ninja. Madara is not on my list simply cos Madara and Hashi founded Kohoha and then Madara was thrown out when he started to cry abaut not being picked as Hokage(Fighting with hokage is not protecting the village) And ninjas dont really matter much by now we have seen that many many konoha ninjas randomly die when there was fights going on. Oro wanted to destroy konoha so he cant be on the hero list to begin with. But that just me

He did what was right to him.. and to Danzo.. They did it in the name of Konoha. But he also killed the people of Konoha (Uchiha).

Im not gonna make a guy on the list, who killed people without even knowing how things would have turned up..What itachi did now is heroic before it was pure innocence and stupidity.

He did it to prevent a potential world war and chaos in Konoha. Saved countless lifes´ by the actions he took. Sure he killed Uchiha but since they were planning to overthrow the system I doubt they could still be considered part of it. It was a military tactic. How is it that it´s innocence and stupidity exactly???............Cus he left Sasuke alive. It that´s your reasoning, it is still not stupid. Simply, it´s Itachi´s only mistake. He did more for the village then anyone else. Every other logical character you mentioned did it while bathing in the love and admiration of the people in the village. the error here is that when someone is being manipulated, they do exactly what you want them to even if they doubt it to some extent. Danzo wanted the Uchiha dead. Itachi left one alive. That action alone disclaims your theory. Second, Danzo wasn´t that well informed about Akatsuki. If he ordered Itachi to become a spy for that organization, how come he, Danzo lacked information on that subject. You see what I´m saying??

I think naruto personally, he found Tsunade, he saved the entire village from pein, in a way he built the army because gaara was a huge part of that and if it wasn't for Naruto gaara would have just killed as many as he could, during the Chuunin Exams he battled orochimaru, he allied the leaf and the sand village, he killed a couple of the Akatsuki and he can controll the nine tails so he is the towns ultimate weapon, P.S he saved the 3rds grandson quite a lot as well
