Why do people always pull the CT event out of their butt when speaking of Itachi? all he did was see CT and say lets shoot stuff at it...not so great

Hmm, I think Itachi would be fine against Kamui... For one Deidara was able to escape it, and we all know Itachi>Deidara. Also with Itachi's vast knowledge of the sharingan and susano'o, I think he can get around Kamui.

Now keep in mind when Kakashi used that on Deidara it was really the first time in battle he used it and couldnt properly aim or controll it. Itachi may know about Kamui, but just the way the manga is heading it looks alot more like that Sharingan ability is extremely unique and wouldnt be common knowledge, but i do agree Susano is a wild card that is tough to overcome.

1. I don't think there is anyone who could get defeated by izanami in whole NV except kabuto.
2. The only one who can counter kamui is obito.
3. Yup they can both keep up with naruto's speed. thats all i wanted to say.
4. Itachi cannot remain in susano 24 x 7 . Thanks to edo he was able to use susano without worrying about his health.
5. Sure...
You must be registered for see images

They have been walking like this for quite a while.. they were talking like friends...
Nagato would have told him about his abilities or hinted him before the fight.
Also nagato was telling them what attack he is gonna do before he do it. Also don't even compare nagato with itachi, nagato >> itachi.

1.Anyone with Kabuto's state of mind
2.True but kamui isnt a sure land technique and there are ways out of it as Diedara demonstrated.
3. Kakashi was in awe by Naruto's speed and not only couldnt track it but mistook him for someone else (Minato to be specific)
4.This is also true but you have to admit that his endurance/stamina for a dying man is remarkably displayed.

And as far as Nagato telling Itachi about his skill, it is highly unlikely due to the fact that they had no idea that they would face eachother when you observe the way their battle unfolded.

Funny how Itachi fanboy's think he's the best at all lol. This thread is about intelligece, not who's stronger.

First off, Kakashi has more experience than Itachi. Second, I'm talking about intelligence/strategies/tactics, and nothing more.

1. He didn't know as much about snakes as Sasuke did
2. He didn't know about Kabuto's hydrification technique
3. He didn't know about hakugeki
4. He (and Sasuke) failed with their combo/surprise attack
5. He didn't know about muki-tensei
6. He didn't know about the stick webs
7. He didn't know about the sound genjutsu

But this isn't really a contest about knowing stuff. This is more a contest about learning on the fly and creating successful counters. And do you know what Itachi's counter to each of these was?

1. nothing (none needed)
2. nothing
3. susanoo
4. can't make strategy - use izanagi
5. susanoo
6. amaterasu
7. Sasuke-Itachi counter-genjutsu

Of all these, only the last one was even moderately impressive as far as strategy and analysis goes

Some people said that it's very rare to see him wrong...
Here i prove them wrong agai
1. Wrong about Tobi
2. Wrong about Sasuke
3. Wrong about the whole Uchiha genocide thing
4. Wrong about Madara
5. Failed to stop a war (the whole reason he killed his family)
6. Failed to stop Tobi from getting to Sasuke
7. Failed to get Sasuke to go back to Konoha (a la kotoamatsukami)
8. Failed to stop Madara (by ending edo tensei)

let's look at some of his others

1. Against Kurenai, Asuma, and Kakashi - no real strategy in this fight (except the kunai distraction).
2. Ran from Jiraiya - no strategy, and did not dominate
3. Rematch with Kakashi and Naruto - did not dominate, and got outsmarted
4. Against Sasuke (crow clone) - no strategy, and got dominated
5. Against Naruto (crow clone) - dominated, and used strategy (a la kotoamatsukami)
6. Against Sasuke - did not dominate, and not much strategy (except maybe expending Sasuke's chakra)
7. Against Bee and Naruto - sort of dominated, but no strategy
8. Against Nagato - no one really dominated, showed a bit of strategy (destroying CT)
9. Against Kabuto - got dominated, showed almost no strategy (except escaping genjutsu)

Outside of battle, he has wisdom on a lot of the Narutoverse. But inside battle, he's not nearly the tactician that Kakashi is.

Even a moderate strategy would put Kakashi on par with Itachi (moderate) level of battle strategies

1. Kakashi vs Naru/Saku/Sasu - kawarimi on the clone instead of a chunk of wood (I still wonder why no one else does this). Setting Naruto up with a bell trap. Using the trapped Naruto as a fake distraction to lure Sasuke out. Not much, but it's a start

2. Kakashi vs Demon Brothers - Kakashi noted the water puddle and used that catch them off-guard. Again, not much, but it's already setting him up beyond Itachi's own feats. He also realized the brothers utilized poison

3. Kakashi vs Zabuza (first) - Seeing the rabbit and realizing it was for kawarimi - meaning shinobi. This next one is just typical Kakashi, but Zabuza notes it to be particularly impressive - when Kakashi made the water clone and used it to talk to Sasuke, giving it the appearance that it was the real Kakashi. Realizing that Haku was an impostor

4. Kakashi vs Zabuza (rematch) - just to keep this one short, Kakashi formed a strategy at the very beginning. He allowed Zabuza to hit him twice so that he could use his own blood to locate Zabuza even in the mist - smarter than just about anything Itachi showed

5. Kakashi vs Itachi (first) - Showed off his analytic skills. Even without being able to read Itachi's hand seals, he was able to realize the shuriken were just distractions, and react accordingly. He was also able to feint with his own clone while getting Kurenai away from Itachi's. He also showed his knowledge of the MS, and tsukuyomi (neither of which he had at the time). Again, few little things, but they sure are adding up against Itachi

6. Kakashi vs Itachi (rematch) - as already said, outsmarted Itachi

7. Kakashi vs Deidara - I don't really remember this fight, but I don't think there was any strategy in it

8. Kakashi vs Kakuzu - combination strategy with Shikamaru to use Hidan to kill Kakuzu. Also analyzed Kakuzu to realize the use of his "heart" system

9. Kakashi vs Pein - was able to figure out the mechanics and even time period of Deva Path's abilities. Created a strategy to take down Deva 2 times ,the frist 1 after using raiton kage bunshin ( deva couln't use shinrei because of the 5s and asura was apralysed, then with Choji and Choza but asura interrupted.

10. Kakashi vs Swordsmen - analyzed until he got a handle on their abilities. Made strategy to seal Zabuza

11. Kakashi vs Jinchuuriki - combined with Naruto, and Gai, formed strategy to counter all the path abilities

12. Kakashi vs Tobi - figured out S/T Migration

Kakashi's intel > Itachi's intel.

I can talk and talk, but ill try and make is quick. First thing that people confuse is intelligence and natural talent. Seems this thread is about genius i take it the op means intelligence therefore this is what ill say.

He was the only person in the whole of konoha which is made up of many various clans who sensed obito/madara and itachi isnt even a senser. Second is that he was able to monitor obito/madara whilst obito didnt know spot itachi. Third is that he was able to agree a deal with obito/masked man to help him kill the uchiha clan, but at the same time obito wouldnt touch konoha. This is a feat that a 12 year was able to accomplish.

Second is that during his introduction he was able to made a very quick tactic stragetgy and anaylsed kakashi, telling kisame that in a fight he would suffer unnecessary injuries. This later included the fact that he decided to flee rather than fight anbu, though some can same because his initial reason for konoha was for something else.

Third is the fact that he had planned his fight with sasuke. To push him whilst at the same time not kill him, that is a very difficult thing to do. In fact all of itachi's fights he has had to fight for other reasons rather than putting his opponents in a box and this ability is very rare and yet he has always achieved the desired outcome one way or another. Its easy to fight to kill because you are not restricted however fighting for other purposes always makes life difficult.

Then there is his fight against kabuto. Itachi had already analysed the situation even before kabuto started talking nonsense about him being closest to the sage, how he is immune to physical damage and how edo tensei ninja's are his pawns and started the loop of izanami in . It was later backed in chapter . He had already picked out a technique in his arsenal which would bring kabuto down but at the same time not kill him, from the very start of the fight. Very good quick thinking and summary of kabuto that itachi did, something that people seem to forget.

Itachi has shown to be able to analyse a situation very quickly and take action

I totally agree, but I'd say Kakashi is not far behind

I also wanted to mention all this. You think exactly like me. Itachi is good with insight or planing things ahead, but in an actual battle, Kakashi is better, he has shown far more tactical feats. So i agree :)

Kakashi's intel > Itachi's intel.

Absolutely correct.
If I may add something...

1) Itachi openly admitted he was outsmarted by Kakashi.
2) Guy stated there's no one better than Kakashi when it comes to analysing. Itachi was said to be analytical, but no such hype was given to him.

Kakashi, simple.

Kakashi fan boys will be fan boys....

Kakashi outsmarted a 30% itachi clone wow what a feat....

Itachi is fat more annalitycal, put kakashi in the same fight against Edo nagato instead of itachi And nagato would have captured all three of them with CT. Kakashi would not have thought about using kunai to block out the shared field vision.

It took kakashi a long time to figure out that his kamui and tobis dimension were linked. How many times did he see obitio's jutsu before he FINALLY realized they were linked? A good 10 times? Maybe more?

Kakashi is intelligent, theres no denying that. However, itachi is really on a different level. Stated by kabuto himself.

i will make this quicker...

Itachi is dead, while kakashi is fighting in this whole arc and he still is gonna fight against obito and most probably defeat him.
No matter how hard you try,You cannot deny the fact,
kakashi have surpassed itachi at this point of time, and all the thing you say will all become a fail the more kakashi show us his skills.
This is kakashi's year, more screen time results in one character being superior to other as he progresses.
So , kakashi is and will be > itachi.
just deal with it
OT :

Tell me how many people know about the uchiha shrine ? A few uchihas ?
Itachi is a genius even among uchihas, if someone goes into his territory, he would surely notice. He was once an anbu afterall.
Any uchiha with itachi's potential would have noticed it , such as kakashi, sasuke , shisui, obito etc, if they were in itachi's shoes.
This is not a feat according to me.

Second : his initial reason was to warn them not to harm them.

Third : i agree, IN itachi vs sasuke fight, itachi did a great job.

Last : This also i agree, itachi roflstomp kabuto xd

But now lets look at kakashi's feats, (in the war arc)
-> He played a great role in taking down all 7 swordsman, the best ones.
-> Figured out the only weakness of tobi's S/T , even itachi wasn't able to do it.
His intelligence surpassed itachi big time , He is the only "brain" ïn the 4 man team, and he is doing his job pretty good.
.
Shit arguments. What kind of argument is this? Itachi is dead while Kakashi is not. Plot-no jutsu.

Of course Kakashi is going to play a part in taking down Obito. He already has by figuring out his S/T.
HOW has Kakashi "surpassed" Itachi, you say? If you did not know, Itachi is younger than Kakashi, and the fact that you say that Kakashi "surpassed" him means that Kakashi is considered less when referring to Itachi.

ANY Uchiha you say? Oh yeah, definitely. I mean, Itachi wasn't 12 or anything when he discovered something no one else noticed. Not a feat? Please. Itachi was 12 when he discovered Tobi, motherfckin TWELVE, regardless of the fact that he was an ANBU captain. That's a feat buddy.

Lmao, Kakashi playing a part in taking down the Seven Swordsmen has nothing to do with analytic feats. Besides, the Seven Swordsman are all principally one-dimensional. They depend heavily on the swords.
HA. How can Itachi not figure out Tobi's S/T when he was never pitted against it, as Kakashi is? This is not a feat where Kakashi succeeded where Itachi couldn't, idiot.

Kakashi's intelligence has never been at Itachi's level, and never will be.

Yare yare... it looks like you shouldn't be the one to talk about fanboyism. You just showed your ignorance in the second sentence, saying that "outsmarting 30% Itachi clone was not a feat". Apparently, this wasn't 30% Itachi. If you think long enough, maybe you'll learn why. I'm already sick of explaining it to every Itachi fanboy, so figure it on your own.

And I don't feel the need of countering your other arguments. Just so you don't think I'm running from it, have a sample - Kabuto said Itachi is special in two cases:
1) When he freed himself from Edo - Kabuto stated so, because he didn't know how Itachi had done it. He didn't know it was a totally random coincidence, which Itachi later admitted.
2) During their fight. He said Itachi's analytical skills stand out among his clansmen.
However, it was said NO ONE is better than Kakashi in analyzing. Such a hype was not given to Itachi, unfortunately.

How can Itachi not figure out Tobi's S/T when he was never pitted against it, as Kakashi is? This is not a feat where Kakashi succeeded where Itachi couldn't, idiot.

Kakashi's intelligence has never been at Itachi's level, and never will be.

One loses credibility with each instance of badmouthing they do.
The fact is that Kakashi succeded in this feat. And the fact is we have no idea whether Itachi would succeed here.
We are comparing their intelligence based on what we know, not based on what we think. Therefore, when we compare their feats, we do it by estimating whose feats are more impressive.
And destroying Chibaku Tensei wasn't really a rocket science. The most feat-like part of it was stating that the attacks will be attracted - which also isn't a super difficult statement to make.
Figuring out Obito's s/t ninjutsu and outsmarting him twice in one fight - that's more impressive.

Oh, one more thing - Itachi wasn't pitted against Obito, as you say, but it's clear he was trying to learn as much as he could about him. He planned to assassinate him (via Sasuke) after all. He spent much more time with Tobi than Kakashi did and still it was Kakashi and not him who cracked his jutsu.

5. Sure...

They have been walking like this for quite a while.. they were talking like friends...
Nagato would have told him about his abilities or hinted him before the fight.
Also nagato was telling them what attack he is gonna do before he do it. Also don't even compare nagato with itachi, nagato >> itachi.

1. Stealing his accomplishment, and calling it plot no jutsu is a weak argument imho.
2. Really? Yet the paths was able to kill Kakashi off, but was revived by " plot-no-jutsu " as you call it.
3. Then Itachi could basically do the same, he IS an Uchiha and he has great control of his eyes. Ever thought of that?
4. He didn't abuse Susano'o, he activated it, for short amounts of in it. He was in Susano'o longer when he fought sasuke, than he was during the fights of Nagato and Kabuto. It may have felt longer, since the manga came out 1 week apart from each other :)
5. So that's total assumptions then. Invalid argument is invalid. We were never told they knew each other's abilities, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that they saw each other's eyes and had basic knowledge of each other's abilities. But for Itachi to formulate and counteract step by step, that's something else you can't avoid.

Last time I checked, Itachi put Kakashi in the hospital for days. Last time I checked Itachi took control of a dead person and then put Naruto under a genjutsu and the reason Kakashi tricked him is because Kakashi fell under Itachi's genjutsu before and needed to use teamwork. It was 4 on 1 so trying to use that battle is pointless. Itachi saved an entire village by killing the Uchiha clan, most of the guys had a sharingan so you have to imagine that it was a tough battle and he did it in a few hours before Sasuke noticed anything. Itachi planned his death years in advance. He nearly tricked and killed Tobi while he was dead. Itachi got Tobi to spare the village. Itachi got the Hokage to spare Sasuke. Itachi was able to undo Kabuto's mind control. He saved Naruto and Bee from Nagato. At the end of the day Itachi's analysis feats outclass Kakashi.
