Naruto deserves the credit, because Naruto mastered those techniques. None of his jutsu was given to him, he received them all through training.

He wouldn't have been able to learn Rasengan as easily without shadow clones backing him up. He really needs both, but I feel like clones are vital in many different ways such as faster training (which helped him master wind release fast and became the key component behind learning FRS) and the fact that he uses them in many of his combat tactics. Rasengan helped him a lot, but in the end there are alternative attacks. They might not meet up to par, but there ARE alternatives.

But are you implying that Minato's benefit only included the Rasengan, or are you equaling the playing field?

Also why Naruto? Minato can use shadow clone jutsu and he still can instantly use rasengan. Who down fall is that because he can't use it perfectly? ​

Unfortunately Naruto's chakra control was absolute shit so he couldn't maintain a Rasengan on his own. So he needed clones to help him out.

Rasengan was never meant to used in a roundabout way as using shadow clones, its meant to be used instantly with one hand in a situation where you can't use hand seal for any other jutsu, if Naruto had never known shadow clone he would have put more effort into learning rasengan with one hand

And prolonged sage mode with fukasaku and shima was possible if kyuubi was more friendly

Naruto ends his fights with a rasengan or rasengan variants while clones get destroyed easily, so I guess kishi puts rasengan a little above clones
