I disagree. Minato beat Tobi no prob and sealed the nine tails alone. Plus hes proven to be faster then Raikage and as Jirayas student..he then goes to teach jiraya techs, minato invented himself :S
What we know - hes a bloody genius, faster then raikage and beat tobi....im not sure anyone would stnd a chance.
I dont know why people are talking about rinnegan tobi coz we dont know what he can do yet

Poll suggest Itachi Madara and hashirma have the best chance against him. Gonna have to assume most of the "Other" votes are for Rinnegan Tobi or the SO6P (sage imo doesnt count he should be able to beat any ninja alive or dead being the ten tails host) I probably should have gave current Tobi as an option but it was rushed. All in all with as little of Minato's abilities known it's hard to say who he could beat. His FTG is such an amazing jutsu it can be used to take most out with its superior strategic advantage but the biggest thing Minato seems to lack is offensive capabilities. FTG is a utility jutsu (and a damn fine one at that) his best striking ability is rasengan which never seems to kill anyone and is countered by a good defense. Minato is a genius no way to deny that but he also has no known counter for the highest level genjutsus out there. But he also has the death god seal which will kill most anyone if he is willing to sacrifice himself to do so, but without that I'm not sure how he would kill someone like Madara at his best or Itachi with his Yata mirror.

In the series there are many people who are stronger than Minato.
Trust me, I have worked with Kishimoto and his manga team.
Jiraiya himself beats Minato in features.
However if this is a 1v1 fight than almost no one can defeat Minato Namikaze 1v1. The reason is the Flying Thunder God so the ๆจใ่ใฎ้ป่ฒใ้ๅ is unbeatable in a 1v1. This was shown in the manga because Minato has the ability to do many things and missions at once because the the "ftg". He can avoid any attack without chakra usage. Now more of Minato will be revealed later. Masashi Kishimoto promises this and Minato is also his favorite kage and he said himself he was the most amazing hokage.
There is nearly no one on that list who can beat him 1v1 however many are stronger than him.
Pein has a pretty good chance 1v1 however many others on there do not.
Naruto has almost surpassed his father according to Kishimoto and Sasuke is much stronger than almost anyone just wait and see so yes Sasuke can defeat him. So can Rinnegan Madara along with Tobi.

Not on topic but I just kinda wanna give my take on why Minato is thought of as the narutoverse chuck norris. Well as we know, Kishi has a habit of giving ppl backgrounds that makes certain ppl seem unstoppable, but when we see them in action, they seem less than sub-par.
Minato was stated to be able to completely kill hoards of ninja in the blink of an eye, to the point that the village with one of the strongest military forces ordered their men to flee on sight, no other ninja has been hyped to have been as strong as Minato, with this statement alone it's obvious that Kishi implies that Minato is very capable.
However ppl seem to have watched Naruto to the point where they believe they've figured out the mechanics enough as to how things go, and they end up coming to their own conclusions that he's not badass given all the things we've seen other Shinobi do.
Another thing is ppl don't know of his ablities, so they end up over and under estimating his capabilities at the same time. Another thing is the fact that he was hokage and Naruto's dad, so of course he'd get points for this as well.
All in all though, until we actually see him in action, to his fans he'll be one of the best, and to all others, he's simply an ftg rasengan fodder killing simpleton. I know Minato's not the best, but I believe he's top 5 or 10 material, we just need to see him in action. Just wanted to get that off my chest, carry on ppl

2-Muu (seems like a bad match-up)
3-Pein (If this is like nagato + six paths of pain, I think 6 bodies and their abilities would overwhelm minato)
4-Hiruzen (prime - we havnt really seen much from him but then again, we havnt really seen much from minato)
5-Itachi (Im not sure about this one but if he were to catch minato in a genjutsu, then I think it would be over as it would give itachi an opening)
6-2nd mizukage (Clam mirage + Joki boi - I think its over. Also, his hydrification technique would come in very handy)
7- Sasori (possibly - He is very underrated. Satetsu kaiho + poison, and the magnetsim of the iron sand could be very dangerous for minato)
8- Orochimaru (possible - Like sasori he is very underrated)
***5th mizukage mabe? Hidden mist (obscure vision - minato kinda needs it for throwing kunai) + skilled mist combo could be very deadly***
