Nagato used the Rinnegan better than anyone to me so far an the Tenseigan i don't know much about but having chakra mode. So i'll say Rinnegan, it pretty much can do anything with time.

And even the other Rinnegan techs like Outer Path, Asura Path, Preta Path and Animal Path combined overpower the other Tenseigan techs like TCM and TSBs combined. So Rinnegan has yet another win. And since Rinnegan is a natural progression of Sharingan, it possesses Sharingan's powers (can only be used by the person who naturally awakened Rinnegan). Rinnegan alone wrecks Tenseigan, add in EMS and it's an overkill.

I'd prefer the Tenseigan since you can visualize all of the chakra points and because it comes with a chakra mode that is OP.

As long as you don't call Tenseigan stronger than the Rinnegan, you can prefer anything you like.

Tenseigan > Regular Rinnegan. Sasuke's Rinnegan > Tenseigan

Any version of Rinnegan is greater than Tenseigan aside from one eye regular Rinnegan.

-Bring people back to life at the cost of your own.
-Take souls and store them.
-Absorb chakra.
-Shinra Tensei and Asura Path (for raw power) and Bansho Tennin.

Tenseigan:

-Chakra Mode that grants speed, strength, and possibly durability comparable to that of the enhancement Naruto gets from BSM when he has Hagoromo's chakra.

When it comes to battle, Tenseigan is far superior to Rinnegan on it's own. The only way a Rinnegan user beats a Tenseigan user is if said Rinnegan user gets some kind of extra power up or already has an extremely powerful chakra. (Sasuke and Hagoromo) But give them Tenseigan and they'd probably just get stronger than they would with Rinnegan.

Tenseigan wins.

When a user gets tenseigan he gets kind of a RSM. Tenseigan is portrayed to be as goos as becoming a Jinjuricki. Hagoromo and Hamura were equals, then Hagoromo became a jin and created his own world, while Hamura awakened tenseigan and created his own world.

Tenseigan is far superior. Or at least that's what is showed in the last. If Toneri had awakened rinnegan instead of tenseigan, he'd no way be in Rikudo BSM Naruto's level.

Tenseigan + Rikudo chakra = Juubito level.

It took Toneri with hundreds, if not thousands of byakugan to create his Tenseigan chakra mode, with stolen Byakugan from Hanabi, for him to cut the moon in half.

It's not even a trick question which is better.

The Tenseigan allows the user to control both attractive and repulsive forces, similiar to the Rinnegan. Additionally, it also grants the wielder Tenseigan Chakra Mode, which in turn gives the user an increase in speed, power, strength, durability, and reflexes. It also grants its user Truth-Seeking Balls, thus granting the user all five nature transformations and Yin–Yang Release.

Unlike the Rinnegan, the Tenseigan has been shown to lose its power and revert back to the Byakugan, as it did when Toneri was defeated by Naruto.

But we will never know which is better unless both the users clash with each other with maximum utility.

And bolt would had been a perfect character for tenseigan , he with tenseigan and bijuu would possibly match naruto.

I'd take the Tenseigan over pains Renningan for sure, but Sasuke's and Madara's Renningan is slightly better. Not enough time was shown for the Tenseigan to show its full potential, but we did see it split the moon in half quite easily.
