[Discussion] Whats the big deal with One Piece?

there isnt really a kiddie feel ... well not later on anyways
its kinda cheesy for 100 episodes and then theres no kiddie feel and it gets seriousss

Really because they have a talking teddy bear in a top hat...lol

Or am I think of something else?

I for one only watch one piece quite recently though I had them in my possession for quite some time...I think the main reason one would doubt whether or not one piece is good is the kiddie feels...

Frankly the first few episodes kinda feel kiddie but by the time you watched arlong park arc which is about episodes 30 I think you will find the story is rather interesting...

Truth to be told the storyline can be far more brutal than that of naruto (killing of humans and considering them pathetic as compared to merfolks) and well thought (my personal favourite alabasta arc which is about episodes 130 define on how war story in anime should be wrote)...

P/S: Only watched english subbed japanese anime, from what I know English dubbed one piece was altered to extent it is specific only for children (For instance, Cigar smoked by Captain smoker was removed)...

Yea that's what I thought (the kiddie feel would go away) but so many eps to get thru lol

But I'll try it I guess....sence so many feel its worth it.

It's definitely worth it.

It's normal for you to not like it now, I hated it too when I watched the first few epiodes, but once you get past that you'll love it (depends on what your style is, but I started to like it after around episode 20-30).

Yes the show is still running and believe me: the drawings get ALOT better, I can show you a picture of Luffy, for example, from the recent episodes but I don't know if you want any spoilers or not.

you might get to like one piece in more like 100 episodes, I tbh liked it from the 1st episode, but i was also bored in some arcs. What made me keep up is the great potential of it, it has 535 episodes and it still has sooo many things to show us...

Watch it/Read it...You'll be in love with the series either way. I'm honestly telling you that you will NOT find any manga/anime better than one piece. The plot is really interesting, like really! The art is unique but that doesn't make the series bad. There isn`t a thing that makes this series bad!

Ok don't bash me but I haven't seen but one episode of the show and didn't like it. But being that it has a huge following I think I might be missing something. I dislike the way they are drawn but I can get pass that if the payoff is good enough so.....

I at first just read it 'coz I knew it was one of the top 3 manga and jut like you I was put off by the art, but the first chapter was kinda okay.

haha i defianlly recomened it i just like to keep reading and watching it but yeah kinda a little kidish at some points but thats the characters personality to have fun with everything but when he is serious its just that much more awesome it would take you quite some time to catch up because 530 some episodes at about 25 min each thats 220ish hours if my math is correct and yeah dubbed Luffy sounds stupid unfortunentally i recomend subbed
