Yeah, in post-war standards he's pretty much a fodder, whether you like it or not. He has a byakugan, that's all. A byakugan post-war is just as valuable as an iPhone is valuable to a fish.

While Sasuke's heroics were shown during the War Arc, which mind you, didn't start when Madara became the Juubi. He was fighting since he arrived with the Kage's.

We're back to this. Most of Sasuke's heroics were not seen in the war at all, his fight with Juubito was seen only. Sasuke literally only fights some Juubi clones and then afterwards Juubito, that's all what the public sees from him.

You realize that many people knew Itachi had tortured Sasuke, right? He was even openly abused by him after Sasuke found out Itachi was after Naruto, and after their encounter, he was left in the hospital due to the mental strain of being Genjutsu'd.

If by many you mean 'Kakashi, Naruto, Gai, Tsunade and some doctors' then yeah many people knew. The only people present during the Naruto and Sasuke vs Itachi beat down was Itachi, Naruto and Kisame. Ga arrives shortly after Sasuke had been beaten.

The Hell? Read slowly, and refer back to the Manga. Danzo gave him two options, he picked the latter because Sasuke's life would be spared. Though I believe he said something about the Uchiha's name not going rotten, though that could have been to Naruto when he asked him about the truth of the massacre.
