I think it's selfishness. Alotnofnthings fall under the category of being selfless. Begin selfless is being humble. That is the best character. "Having knowledge without character is like having a boat with no water". If everyone was less selfish, the world would eg a lot more advanced than how it is now. What you put out, is what you get back says Newtons Laws of Motion. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If everyone in the world was selfless, we wouldn't even have homelessness. What's you guys opinions?
that the majority of people in this world dont ask them selves things like, what can i do to be better?, or have i been a good person today? all because it feels weird, or they're embarrassed
if one can give up caring about the type of human being they are because its not socially "cool" to be aware and ask your self daily if youve done better, or good. It makes me wonder about all the other things they'll give up on to fit in.
for example, i use to think alot as a kid, about what everything meant and how id effect it, and over the years i just stopped talking about it, because every time something half serious comes up my friends wouldn't even bother trying to converse.
At one point i was so busy doing things that didnt matter, whether it was internet or smoking ciggs with my friends, i was only doing things that brought me momentary pleasure, while ignoreing the things that could bring me true progress in life, one day i realized i didn't even think about whether i was good or not anymore.
if i had to put the biggest problem with our world that i see in a line:
its that we
stopped living life
searching for a purpose, and
started living life
searching for a way to appease ourselves, only trying to stay content for as long as possible, which just lead to people ignoring the effect their actions have on others, stopped caring about if they were good or bad, only cared about if they will be comfortable or not in the future.
but thats just my opinion.
