Pain would eventually have taken all the Tailed Beasts by the time Sasuke reached maturity (Shippduen time skip).

Since there is no other possible Kurama Jin (unless Konohagakure uses someone else who can hold it) then Pain would have gathered all the necessary tailed Beasts including the Hachibi. Remember that the Akatsuki started to move after the Exams, so if they caught wind Sasuke killing Naruto who then released Kurama. Who do you think would be the first on that?

Since Sasuke would still try to kill Itachi (and at the same time he would leave the Akatsuki after learning the truth about his brother) him and Pain would eventually cross paths between the Pain Arc (which wouldn't really exist since Kurama would be captured and/or sealed in someone else)

If Sasuke killed Naruto, that mean that Kurama would be free. If Konoha manage to capture Kurama, I believe Jiraiya would be the Jinchuuriki since he is one of the strongest in the village and level headed.

First they had to capture each Biju in order, and the fact that they were just catching the Ichibi at the beginning of Shippuden means that Sasuke would have at least that much time before Akatsuki makes their move

Sasuke does Chidori spear, then many chidori are coming out of the opponent body. Sasuke has his sword skills which will come in handy against the pain that absorbs Ninjutsu. Sasuke can use Chidori on his sword to make his opponent go numb preventing them from moving.

this. Orochimaru would have put a counter measure in place to make sure he got Sasuke's body

Itachi's earlier interaction with Sasuke seems like major "plot" that got heavily retcon'd once Kishi decided to make Itachi into less of a villain. Itachi's character isn't very consistent between Part1 and Part2.
