[Discussion] What if BB captured Luffy instead of Ace?

Do you think that maybe Dragon would've gone to save Luffy? As well as Shanks and WB pirates (Considering that Ace would go and then the entire WB crew would go) If they did so, do you think Garp would let them execute his grandson right in front of him? Garp versus Akainu or Sengoku would've been epic.


Anyway, do you think the Marines are lucky that BB didn't capture Luffy instead of Ace? And what do you think would've happened if Luffy was captured?

Edit: I totally forgot about Straw Hats, Do you think they would've made it to Marinford?

Dragon won't come or at least he won't use all of his men for the war as he's not selfish enough to sacrifice his men for the sake of saving his son.. The best I can think of is that he'll go on his own.

Garp won't stop it. If he didn't do that in case of Ace then I have no reason to believe that he will change his mind in case of Luffy.

Wb crew won't come and I don't think Ace would let them know that he's planning to save Luffy as he's fully aware of the consequences of a Yonko VS Marines battle. But if they somehow knows that Ace is planning to save Luffy then they'll most likely come with Ace.

I can't think of an idea about how Shanks will react about Luffy's situation. Shanks most likely won't come IMO.
Shanks isn't stupid enough to start a war with WG for single head.

Only people that I think will surely come are:

His crew.
Ace.

That's all and I personally don't think Dragon would come.

From what we have seen, his love for Luffy is no different from what he had for Ace.

Ace would've taken Luffys role and either infiltrated Impel Down on his own, or the whole crew would've rekd the place and broke him out before taking him to MF.

There is no doubt in my mind that Shanks himself wouldn't have left, but he would have sent his crew to save Luffy, because he can't see him till he's strong enough.

If they didn't save him from Impel the same events would've followed. But since Ace would be in better condition and he's stronger I definitely believe he would've gotten to Luffy w the help of Mr. 3 or enough luck to get his hand on the sea stone key. Shanks crew still would've gotten there late.

But if we're gonna be real here nobody would know since they don't have Luffys vivre card.

idk about Dragon, we have to see how comited he is to his cause, but considering Sabo didn't/was not allowed to come (not being able to come is also a possibility) there is a possibility that Dragon would not come or a possibility that only Dragon (and perhaps Sabo) would come and leave the Revolutionary army to do what they do

as for ID, I always thought it was a bit of weird (plot) that WB didn't just storm ID

If luffy was on the platform and about to get executed. Garp, dragon, shanks & even Whitebeard (because of ace forcing him to go as well to save his brother) would of done something. The marines would get raped lol

Shanks already was at the war for Ace, so he will do the same for Luffy. However he got held up by Kaido so he also won't be in time this time around.

Dragon might go, but he is on Baltigo. Where is Baltigo ? He can only start traveling until the execution is announced. When Luffy learned of Ace's execution he traveled with a shichibukai through 2 gates of justices and still arrived late. So assuming Baltigo is somewhere in the NW, he would never make it in time.

All the Strawhats won't make it for the same reason.

So Luffy pretty much gets executed without anyone being able to save him.

Am I the only one who thinks he would just die. Lol just think about it, Ace going without WB? Don't see it, he alone is not saving him. Garp would give Luffy the Ace treatment. And be like you shouldn't have become a pirate in the first place, of course with some tears. Dragon may not be the kind of father figure people think he is. I doubt he would save Luffy if he is no where around.
