If you have seen it, it's on netflix. I think video game movies and movies based on anime/manga must be really hard to adapt into live action but I thought this was a better attempt than I expected it to be.
I liked parts of it but I have a really low bar. No spoilers but they crammed alot from the anime/manga into like one short movie so a lot happens really quickly. I figured the opinions of people on an anime forum would be good.I've seen like the first 10 minutes.....It just doesn't sit well with me
Did you guys like it?
You think it's worth watching saw the trailer and looked cool but I think as a short movie the story will be ruinedI liked parts of it but I have a really low bar. Do you have a youtube channel? Its the new Dragonball Evolution. It failed horribly as an adaptation and was equally as horrible as a movie in its own right—there were some scenes that were on par with The Room. Horrible writing, horrible acting, literally every character is an idiot, L gets so emotional to the point that he starts acting without thinking, Light is the definition of teen angst (and the definition of an idiot), Mi(s)a is also the definition of teen angst (and an idiot), and so on. The only thing that I liked was Willem Dafoe as Ryuk but considering Ryuk was only in the movie for maybe 10 minutes and how they used Ryuk was also stupid, that really doesn't say much.

They get the money and it's promotion for them either way. So that's moot.[SIZE= 3]The DN creators praised it.
