And that, my friends, is how somebody as useless as Hidan made it into the Akatsuki.

Honestly, when you look at everybody in the Akatsuki outclasses Hidan incredibly.

He's immortal, I guess, even though some rope will keep him down and beat him. Most people can destroy him regardless, at a celluar level. Not to mention his "jutsu" takes so long to use it's near useless.

Hidan is nothing but an annoying greaser with a big sword.

More like his Hidden Technique. Besides, the ultimate agenda of Akatsuki was to capture the Bijuu and control war. They recruited who they thought was the best: High S-rank Criminals. He must be the best if he is recruited by them personal in my opinion.

well, he was let in basically cause kakuzu couldn't kill him. I think he's still a good ninja, he dead take out Asuma. But that was only because you've never heard of a ninja killing someone by stabbing himself. He was strong, but not Akatsuki strong.

A guy who can beat Kage level ninjas surely mean he is a Kage level shinobi himself, also S rank criminals are Kage level.
Last time I checked there is no rank beyond Kage level.

They needed him because kakuzu kept on killing his partners because he went berserk.. soo whenever he went nuts hidan wouldnt be killed... they were perfect match thats why their called zombie brothers.
